Why have we been ignoring each other?

This girl and I used to flirt with each other and interact every time I saw her. She seemed into me, so I invited her out. She didn't give me an answer right away, and after that we started ignoring each other. Not even look at each other. Then she texted me and said she could. And after that we ignored each other in person, too. Then we made plans via text, continue to ignore each other person, went out (which was a bit awkward because we had been ignoring each other for so long so it took a while to get used to each other again), had a mediocre time, and then after that continued to ignore each other in person again.

I haven't contacted her since and she likewise, though I've seen her in person a couple times and we ignored each other. In all likelihood, she doesn't even think about this...she probably has a lot of guys wanting her so she doesn't notice when one of them falls by the wayside. That seems to be true of a lot of girls. But I've noticed. And if she doesn't care, then I don't want to either.

And don't tell me to go up and talk because maybe she's thinking the same thing, because I've never seen that to be the case, the other party always just hasn't noticed.

expect in r/l, nine times out of ten; she does think that same thing having loads of guys means nothing if you and her connected in the beginning. as for the ignoring, some girls do that because they are shy or having a bad day, w/e the case may be.

well, considering that she's the one who initially left me hanging when I asked her out (she ignored me before eventually texting me an answer), it seems pretty clear that she defined it from the outset.

let me be clear: I've gotten no indication that she's actually interested in me. When I asked her out, instead of being enthusiastic and saying yes, she hemmed and hawed a bit, giving me vague generalities. And then ignored me the next couple days before texting she could. What does that say to me about her interest level? When we finally went out, the whole time I wasn't sure if she was just hanging out or actually serious about getting to know me. she continued this ignoring in person. She's not giving me anything to play off of. To me, it seems that if I just fade away it wouldn't matter to her.

yeah, if there's anything I've learned, it's don't chase. I used to enjoy her company because of all our banter and flirting, but ever since she didn't seem all that enthusiastic when I asked her out, even though she ended up doing it, it just told me that she doesn't care all that much. In which case, I don't have to either.

what I got from that was she liked the attention she was receiving from you. Or that she may be seeing someone. When I was starting in my relationship I distanced myself from a guy friend who liked me a lot, but to me I couldn't date him. I'm not sure if that helps at all.

nah, she isn't in a relationship from what I gathered from the outing we went together. And she started this only after I asked her out so it's probably the first part, even though she did end up going out with me. But considering she continued to ignore me after that, she probably just felt obligated since she said yes.

Could be any number of things... My best guess, she went out on a pity date with you... She went to do a nice thing by not flat out rejecting you.

If this is the case, the whole ignoring thing is probably her trying to get a bit of distance... But the fact she went out with you shows that its likely she cares about your feelings.

Try to become friends with her again. A relatiosnship can not be established through ignoring each other. And even if she dosent like you back at least you will have established a friendship
