Lost interest in having a girlfriend

I seem to have lost interest in having a girlfriend. I mean, I'm not turning asexual or anything, I've been picking up at clubs and have a f*ckbuddy so I'm satisfying those needs... but as far as an actual relationship goes I really cannot be bothered.

I'd rather hang out with my friends, or spend the time alone. I was seeing the girl pretty casually for about 2 months recently, and although I liked her more than I've liked every girl I've met in the past couple of years, I really could not be bothered getting into a relationship. I'd rather be out with friends or having random sex, or by myself watching a dvd. I found myself finding it more of an obligation to go out with her, rather than something to look forward to.

I guess my question is, has this happened to other people?

There's nothing wrong with it.

having a girlfriend is not something necessary for being a live.

it only makes the quality of your life better and if it doesn't do that in your case there's no reason you should have a GF.

The whole movie "about a boy" is about a guy that feels like you :D

Although I can tell you a few things;

Chances are that you don't fall in love with random people like a lot of people do. Your standards are high so it might take you longer to find the perfect one.

Second, some people only look at negative traits in others, so will find it hard to enjoy anyone's company for an extended amount of time because they only focus (and are irritated by) the negative traits of this person.

You might be one of those people.

Do a little test, make a list of things about a person you know and see if you only mention negative things at first.

Like : "Jane, yeah she thinks she's very funny but she's not, she has a very clingy behaviour bla bla" instead of saying nice things about her.

And third, some people, like my oldest brother, just don't need companionship. Their like a lone wolf.

These people usually end up going to the army or any other kind of job where you are alone and away from civilization for months at the time.

Can you be locked up in a room for 3 weeks with books, video games, videos, good food and drinks and have a fun time those 3 weeks without communicating to ANYONE else? Then you're a lone wolf :D

yes I'm only 21 and I can tell you that once I'm in a relationship I'm actaully more happy when I'm single...like you said it becomes more of an obligation, and personally I don't like the feeling of being trapped..i don't really have random sex, because we all know its a double standard and if I did id be labeled a tramp, but I still have casual sex with a few of my exs and that satisfies any need in that dept..i see your age group is 25-29 so if your btw those ages more likely then not your seeing your friends slowly start meeting girls and becoming a little serious..i think that right now your just still in that independent phase and as you get older, those f*ckbuddys won't excite you as much and you will actaully want a real relationship..you said that you met a girl that you were seeing casually, and yes you might have liked her, but you weren't into her THAT much..i think once I meet the right guy who I'm actaully compatiable with in ALL aspectts(if its ever happens) then I will actaully look foward to seeing him and actaully having a boyfriend..i think the same will happen to you

Your just being a guy. For some reason, yall are alergic to relationships. Most.

Yes, this happens to almost all guys. You start to miss the single life of doing whqatever you want to do, sleeping with whoever you want with no worries, and you just want a drama free life and us girls are too much work for you that you just want to be free from all that. Most of us are emotional and a lot of guys don't like dealin with that when they are so young. hon, your normal for a guy. Yall don't really like girls. You just like what's between our legs and being free until you get older and mature and realized that not all women bring drama and are hard to b in relationships with, you will want a relationship but now your manliness is kickin in and you want out of that cage you call a relationship.

Maybe it's just your age. I know a lot of guys will go through a stage where all they want to worry about is theirselves. I get like that sometimes too. The relationship just isn't worth the hassle. Hopefully one day you'll find someone who makes it worth the hassle, but until then I wouldn't worry about it too much. As long as you're happy alone then be alone. Do whatever makes you happy.

Absolutely! I just got out of a relationship and have NO desire or energy to get involved with anyone just yet. You're young, live the single life and enjoy it- what's the harm?
