Anonymous(36-45)+1 yI used to be a manager, though different business, and I can definitely relate to your point here because people would literally complain about rules clearly posted on our website, in the building, or right in front of their face---I mean every place has them, you don't get to get special treatment just because you showed up---however, as much as I or you may have been in the right on these issues, you need customers, even the crappy ones. The crappy ones are the ones that go off in your case and write bad reviews and tell the world how horrible your place was because you didn't make their steak well done and you know who reads those reviews, both GOOD and bad types of customers alike and then you lose business. Fair---of course not, but it is the price of being a part of or doing business and it sounds like you're still there, so you do like everyone else and vent about it and move on.

+1 yWhen you pay for something, you want it to be of satisfactory quality.
Why would you not complain if some person fucks up what you buy?
Would you go to a store, buy a laptop, find out it is broken and then go home without complaining?
No, if you pay for something it needs to be of satisfactory quality.12 Reply- +1 y
Of course, some people just complain for attention or to get a free meal. However, complaining about something you've bought due to deficiencies in quality is perfectly reasonable
690 opinions shared on Food & Beverage topic. if i build a car for someone i have to consider their requirments. i would totally understand if they complained i left a finger nail or hair on the dash lol. sometimes complaining is justified and its not like eating out is cheap

Very ironic, coming from you :)24 Reply- +1 y
Customers have the right to make a complain, even at a restaurant.
Why? Because they pay.
Eating establishments aren't gulags.
It is up to the Head Chef or the chef in charge of the pass for the night to make a decision on whether the complaint has merits or not. Most chefs will err on the side of caution. Bad publicity spreads faster than a spark in a dry forest.

Faster than what? If you don’t like how the food is then leave a suggestion and don’t come back. But don’t bark at the waitress bullshiting about how the last restaurant you went to was better, or how your brother is a 5 star chef and they could make it better. Just to get a free meal.
6.6K opinions shared on Food & Beverage topic. I go out five nights a week and spend my hard earned money on a good high quality meal that I look forward to in the evening its the highlight of my day. The kitchen many times are so backed up
or for example at Denny's they are horribly unorganized. At restaurants sometimes when they send the food out or they don't cook it properly or it's cold so I'm not going to sit there and just eat it and shut up and be taken advantage of and pay all that good money and plus tip the waitress well of course I'm going to say something I want what I paid for and that's good high quality well cooked hot good tasting food00 ReplyComplaining about food orders is part of the service, but i do agree with you that some people will just make the issue bigger than what it really is.
Personally ill only complain if somethings missing or if something is wrong and its can't be over looked, so ill just ask that i get what i already paid for or to just correct the fuck up. Hell ill even joke with them especially if the place is packed or i just had my food fixed by a newbie. Shit happens its all good just give me what i asked for and im a happy fat ass00 Reply
+1 yThe only time I complain/send stuff back is if it’s visibly burnt/undercooked (happens very rarely) or if my order got messed up because I have allergies. I’m pretty patient with it though and just don’t tip/come back if they screw it up more than once.
00 Reply334 opinions shared on Food & Beverage topic. A lot of reasons why , cuz people are paying for a service so they dont have to Cook at home and deal with the clean up. I dont really complain i will usually politely ask what is going on if i am waiting to be served whike other people come in after. me and getting served before me or iif my food is cold , or if it tastes undercooked , or they serve me dirty dishes. I dont really complain i know shit happens so i am mainly laid back but as for other people who knows lol

+1 ySometimes, complaining is OK, and even then there needs to be some etiquette. If you follow dietary restrictions (e. g. health or religious), or if the food was prepared in a way that is completely off (e. g. wrong ingredients). That makes sense.
Personally, so long as the food has no pork or alcohol in it, I don't care. I'll eat it. Then again my senses of taste and smell are diminished... so... yeah.00 Reply

+1 yThere's a right way and a wrong way to handle the situations, but I DO expect my food to be cooked as I requested, and with the condiments/sides/garnish as per the menu or as requested. Requesting a refire on a medium-well that arrives rare is certainly justified.
00 Reply What would restaurants prefer:
A.) People just dont say anything, pay and never come again.
B.) Complain on how the restaurant can make better.
Obviously B, because A leaves the owner with no guests and bankrupt.15 Replythey have no class and should make their stuff at home
11 ReplyI only complain if the food is not what I ordered. like a bacon cheeseburger which I get charged for and is instead a chicken burger with bacon, I'll complain.
00 ReplyI'm a retired chef/cook and have often wondered the same thing. Sometimes they're just irritable because they're hungry. But not always. Sometimes I think they want the at home atmosphere and since they're not home all they have left is the food to take it out on. Awesome question!

+1 yWell customers have the right to complain to a certain extent. The can complain if the dish is poorly made. But if it is made exactly the way it has to be and they don't like it, then they can't complain.

Wait, I didn't understand what you meant?

I know cause I love cooking too. If I didn't make it right. I'm open to suggestions but eventually you can't please everyone. What one person finds tasty, another will find repulsive. All we can do is make what our hearts tell us or whatever most people like.
+1 yThat's a risk they take because
everyone in that kitchen area
isn't always sanitary, especially
when their food is sent back
with complaints... 😂Just saying.10 Reply
+1 yI only complain if the server basically ignores the table, I always think even once during a meal is good rule of thumb to make sure things are ok. Truth is I don't even complain I just won't tip if that happens is all

Anonymous(36-45)+1 yIf you want your steak medium, you expect medium, not rare or well done. This is why a waitress takes an order and asks questions about what you want. If the chef can't get it right, the customer has every right to complain.

Because It's their right. If you are not satisfied with a Service you can say what's not okay for the price you pay.

Again you watch too much TV. I’ve only seen clips of both, I wouldn’t know the difference. But I’m aware of his personality and how he yells at people. There wouldn’t be much for him to yell at me for because his one pet pieve from what I’m aware of is laziness. Something he wouldn’t be able to yell at me for. Anything else and he could suck a dick.

@swolecook
shut your fat ass, get back in the kitchen and make me some waffles phaggot
I would only complain if it was really bad ( never complained yet ) some people may be trying to scam a free meal but after all we are paying for service and a level of quality
