Does anyone know where you can get plastic lids for your cans, so that you can store stuff like nails or screws in them? All I see online is for the cans of cat food, which are wider.

Look for an animal hospital or veterinarian who is opening up shop in your area. They will give away can-lids with their name printed on them, presumably to cover up started dog food cans, but they work on any can that fits. We have a couple that actually fit three different sizes of cans- two on one side and a third on the other- from several years ago when a vet opened near us. Our "dollar store" also has them, but they're pretty poor quality. We also save the plastic lids from various "canned" foods- typically frosting or yogurt for many functions, even if they don't fit cans, etc. Mixing palette for touch-up paint, soap tray, spoon rest, etc.
what if you get the regular container that are three inches diameter... and cut off the lids

Good suggestion but It has to snap on a particular can. I'm not sure any container would have a lid of the right size. Plus they have to be cheap enough to be able to use them for lids for cans that I can put small parts, screws, nails, etc. How come you got 3 downvotes for this? Did you bring your lamprey trolls with you? π€·ββοΈπ€·ββοΈ
lmfao no idea... I rarely notice dislikes because when I go back to a comment of my it is straight to the replies
but I just checked on my profile and it seems like someone is just disliking with multiple accounts on all of what I post, so I guess that explains it
why? no idea at all... as long as they're happy with the effort, I do not mind it
on the lids though... have you tried to look for silicone lids instead of plastic ones? maybe those have more variety
I did, but they are expensive, too expensive for the use that I intend for them.
right... what about a store for parties supplies, or any that sells cups, containers for other purposes, they might have plastic caps or lids, as well
Worth a look. Thanks.
The cat food aisle sometimes has a reusable can lid for sale.
Itβs designed for cat food cans and has w cute little cat fave in it, but it fits literally all cans.

These say for pet food, but they work on a variety of can sizes.

@daniela1982 what about these ones? https://a.co/g7n4Bd3
I'll look into that. You would think some small pieces of plastic would cost a lot less.
You should be able to get them in stores like bed bath and beyond, Walmart, or target.
My God, you do sound like a frog. ππ€©
I am surprised you cannot find them online someplace.
At your nearest 3D printer. Or you could just use a rubber band and plastic wrap.
Dollar Tree, Britney.
I'm not buying trees wise guy. ππ€£π³π΄π²
Your local grocery store. Amazon too probably.
Grocery stores just carry full cans. Not stuff for empty cans. Already tried Amazon and eBay.
I'd check amazon, worst case get them 3d printed.
Pringles?
Maybe the small 1/2 size might work.
Nope , sorry
Try a dollar store
