Also, what was the last dish you cooked?
I'm curious... 🙂

Best dish I ever cooked was probably one of my steak an egg dishes. Barring that, when my mother and I started talking again I came over and made salmon with a layer of spinach, then cheese under it.
Don't ask me what kind I fell in love with this cheese at a Georgian spot near my old apartment and I got them to sell me a box of it for nearly the price of a spaceship. It's like mozzarella but way better.
The salmon was topped with mashed potatoes, peas and sliced carrots on top but I made a depression in the mash so it held the butter like a bowl and when you cut into it it spilled around the dish. 😂
Yesterday I cooked chicken and rice.
I like to just take 3 dark beers, add enough water to the pot to cover some thighs. Salt, shitload of pepper, little vinegar, maybe 5 cloves (but I think mine are very old, just enough to pull the spices together a bit), paprika, Chilli powder, tyme. I buy theighs with the bone in because that costs $8 and the same pack boneless is $16. So I figure whatever it's going to come out better anyway.
I don't even really marinate. I just throw the pot with the brine on the small burner on low till it hits probably around 170f (still messing around with this part, you're basically changing how dry you want the chicken to be for texture with the rice) then I turn it off and give it another 45 minutes maintaining a temp of around 145f.
Chicken pulls off the bone nice without turning to mush. Chop it up. I don't know how people cut chicken into cubes. I guess they're probably not using thighs. Toss that in a iron skillet with almond oil on high heat and just try my best to get a crispy exterior. Still getting better at that.
Then I add rice. I'll cook the rice in advance a little dry. This is the part I'm most likely to fuck up a little because I have a little skillet and I have that shit overflowing with rice 😂
I'll add a little olive oil because that fries the rice, or at least I think it does, probably not. Add some brine from earlier progress to Pino grigio as I'm cooking to stop the rice on the bottom of the pan from overheating and getting stuck.
I never make enough. It always goes missing. I'd like to find a way I like making it without the oils though.
I'm single right now. But I've been pretty unlucky when it comes to woman in my life being able to cook!
Hmmm, best probably a filet mignon and I went through the trouble of making a red wine/balsamic vinegar reduction for it. I was pretty hyped about that one because it was a replica of my go-to meal from my go-to fancy restaurant, and I just winged it without really knowing how to make any of it. I think that might’ve been when I first became a master steak chef 👨🍳 🥩😝
1B might be this pork loin with an apple and herb stuffing…
Also made roasted garlic mashed potatoes and sautéed zucchini, summer squash, and red onion with it, if I remember right.
Tonight I was on the fly, got home late, need to get to bed soon, I’m up early tomorrow. So I just made something simple: I just make crumbled lean ground beef seasoned with salt, pepper, garlic powder, onion powder, dried basil, and oregano, and I throw in some diced red onion. Had some pre-made air-fryer sweet potatoes and carrots that I made with it. I used to always make that to add to pasta sauce back when I ate pasta more frequently, and I’d always eat half of it before it made it into the sauce, haha. So I figured I’d just start making that and eating it straight up😂
About a year ago I made a dish called "Cioppino" which is Italian with lots of vegi's and all seafood protein with Tuna, King Crab, Little Neck Clams, Mussels, Scallops, and Shrimp for a family gathering which included my husbands family from Tortola. I got great compliments from everyone. The best part was that I got the idea from watching an episode of Criminal Minds when Rossi had the group at his home for some special occasion. As he was making it, he was explaining what was in it and how he was making it. I made it just remembering what I could remember from that scene.
I make tacos different than most. I press hamburger on one half of a corn tortilla and lay it open into a pan with about a quarter inch of vegetable oil. I fry it for about fifteen seconds, then carefully fold it and flip it to fry the other side. I'll also make pinto beans and occasionally sopa (a Mexican soup). People come from ALL over the state to have a taste! 🤣🤣
The last dish I cooked was baby back ribs with potato salad.
As a flavor hunter always lurking around Girls Ask Guys to share my culinary adventures, I've cooked up quite the storm in my kitchen. The best dish I've ever made would probably be my take on Beef Wellington. It was a journey experimenting with the perfect puff pastry and that succulent medium-rare beef tenderloin, wrapped around a delicious duxelles. Truly a labor of love and a feast for the senses. 🥩🍷As for the last dish I cooked, it was a much simpler affair - a classic spaghetti carbonara. No cream, just egg, parmesan, pancetta, and lots of black pepper. Sometimes, simplicity really is the ultimate sophistication, and who doesn't love a good pasta dish? 🍝
fuck off.

Lasagna bolognese with bechamel sauce and buffalo mozzarella. I managed one time to buy all ingredients in premium quality, otherwise I didn't do something special to prepare that dish.
Best dish? Maybe chicken and sausage jambalaya. Maybe pork ribs which were cooked in a pressure cooker with beer, apricot juice, whiskey, liquified sweet onion, garlic, Cajun seasoning, and honey chipotle Sweet Baby Ray's bbq sauce. I finished cooking them over a wood fire while reducing all that other sauce shit from the pressure cooker in 2 big skillets, then basted the ribs with it. My dad was super critical of ribs and he was raving about them, he said they were the best ribs he ever ate in his life. I would have to agree.
the best dish? that probably depends on who I did cook it for and what they like... personally, though, I do like some paella... I actually like that, and some more involved versions of the mole sauce as well...
but people probably prefer some good and great tacos... and Tacos al Pastor comes to mind
the last thing I cooked though... spicy crab cakes
I even got one of these... lol
I make a great chicken tikka masala , and it’s not even me who has that opinion , it’s literally everyone that appreciates that type of food and has tried it People literally want to pay me to bring them in a portion where I work. I’d never charge them though.. just treat them every so often
@7Phoenix7 did you just invite yourself over for dinner? 😂
Haha , your right
I would have to say my home made from scratch Manicotti. It's an Italian dish. It takes all day in the kitchen to prepare this but it is worth it.
When my son ate it for the first time he was around 9 years old. He said to me "Mom, when you die, will you leave me the recipe"?
So cute 🙂
I’ve made traditional Tourtière that all of my friends and family thoroughly enjoyed.
Sometimes I crisp some French Fries in the oven and smother it with gravy and cheese curds… it turns out mostly okay.
Last dish I made? Smoked salmon with a balsamic vinaigrette salad, and some dinner rolls..
Long time ago, in college, when I was single, I had several friends over, and cooked a veal parmigiana meal on spaghetti with Bolognese sauce. It was delicious. Everyone loved it. Best meal I've ever cooked.
Last thing I cooked was my breakfast this morning: scrambled eggs in the microwave. Tasted good, not very fancy.
@7Phoenix7 I rarely use the stove. Using the microwave is faster, uses less energy, doesn't heat up the kitchen, and cleanup is much easier. Just wash the bowl.
@7Phoenix7 2 eggs in a microwave-safe bowl for 1:45 gives perfectly cooked eggs, all together, perfect for an egg sandwich. You can pause at 0:45 and break them up or wait until done and then use a fork if you want scrambled eggs.
Last dish? Homemade pickles, if that counts. Otherwise? Italian beef with homemade juices, ala Buona Beef, etc.
As for the BEST? My homemade cheesecake is always great- use my mom's recipe. Haven't made it the last couple of years - I go broke finding the cream cheese. If it's a "dish" specifically that would have to be my fajitas if we eat Mexican, or my Chinese stir fry.
While I DO have some "go to" recipes to fall back on, I'm kind of a MacGyver cook - I work with what I have.
Boiled rice with with tins of macel and fried courgettes it goes lovely together wee one a thought up myself it's delicious nice hot rice tins of makrel and fried courgettes it's lovely
Best: Full Thanksgiving dinner plus Greek side dishes...
Last: Grilled up a slab of fish with greens and a slightly spicy risotto.
A lot of filo dough involved: Spanakopita, Kreatopita, Spanakorizo, Lemon Potatoes, Tzatziki, a proper salad with feta, a platter of different spreads and crackers/pita, and a couple of casseroles we didn’t serve up till the following day…. And we won’t talk about the sweets lining the coffee table after dinner.
Yum yours sounds good too! I tend to cook for the family for a couple of days… like my gran taught me. 🤷🏻♀️
Not sure, but two years ago at Thanksgiving I did manage to make a killer spinach pumpkin lasagna with vegan cheeses for a vegan friend. The secret was halving the amount of pumpkin called for in the recipe.
i just accidentally made crab cake sandwiches for everyone here and they were delish
It could be sweetnsour chicken, or chicken & dressing or chicken spaghetti. Yep the third one about 5 years ago.
Man, I don't remember my last do up.
Pizza stuffed meatloaf is my best, last was Texas toast buffalo chicken pizza
Well Pizza ingredients stuffed inside of a meatloaf
Yes it's tasty 😋
Best I made was a slow-cooked chicken and potato stew with carrots, peppers and a base of tomato sauce.
Most recently I made tuna penne pasta with olives and capers.
I make a mean General Tso's chicken.
I made Irish Pot Roast. I got the recipe off the internet.
Eggs Benedict is the best dish I've cooked, and an omelet is the last dish I cooked
Yep :)
Best definitely would be my shrimp creole.
Last dish, was baked spaghetti
A whole chicken in the oven with stuffing inside and mash potatoes.
I smoked a turkey on the side grill for 19 hours for Thanksgiving turned out beautifully nice smoky flavor
Isn’t this a really nice large looking great dessert I had this last night at Longhorn steakhouse took me quite a while to finish it. It was really rich with a lot of sugar but very yummy. Took it off of my cell phone the pics

I grill ribs every Sunday, and never use the same rub twice. About a month ago, I really, really nailed it.
Venison with a blackcurrant shallot and port jus served with asparagus and sauteed potatoes. Last a full English breakfast
Not sure which one is the best. But my recent one is just refried beans with leftover grilled carne asada.
