It's to discourage poor people from eating there and bringing down the ambience of the place. The logic being if you need to ask the price you can't afford to eat there.

I can sort of understand that but what really pisses me of is when small snack shops do it, the type you pop in to pick up a sandwich, pasty or sausage roll.

You just know they're going to pop it in a bag and ask for £20 then look down their nose at you when you tell them where to shove it.

Restaurant web sites suck bad. Retail is just as bad.

Just tell me the prices already. Tell me the specials. Tell me the hours. Tell me where they are. All of that should be very easy to find on their site.

I understand that retail and restaurants are going after online sales, but but not everyone. I don't want to know the online only price. I don't want to know the delivery price. I want to know what I'm getting into before I hop in the car and go there. Everyone complains about this.

Or requiring you to enter heaps of personal info before they even let you see the MENU!!! If a restaurant uses whole numbers with no dollar sign, I usually won't go there either. They just don't want you to equate their food with heaps of money.
