Why do some girls hate being called cute?

When I say a girl is cute I mean she's attractive so I don't understand why some girls get upset if you call them cute instead of hot or something

Well I think it has a lot to do with what they are used to hearing. I for one am always used to hearing guys tell me how "hot" or "sexy" I am to the point that I very much appreciate being called cute. It's more genuine and endearing. But if a girl is only ever called cute, she might not see it as a sweet compliment but she'll see that she's not being called hot or something more sexually aimed.

Because they feel as if the guy doesn't see them as a woman, but instead a little girl. Also, they feel like this means the guy isn't all that attracted to them. I like being called adorable and cute, but that's because I'm very awkward and get uncomfortable with other compliments.

Yeah, I think girls tend to look into things thinking there is so much of a deeper meaning. There really isn't. Just be happy with the compliment. He called you cute so he obviously thinks you are attractive. No need to get offended. And you're welcome. :)

Women want to be beautiful or at least pretty. I'd even rather be called hot than cute. Cute is not a bad word per se. There are other leagues we'd rather be in so cute sounds insulting by comparison.

Sometimes it can be condescending as if she were less of a girl or "just" cute, if that makes any sense. It is sort of like when people call me "innocent" because I am a virgin. Often it is a form of belittlement, even if they do not intend it. It is like saying you are less of a person.

There is nothing wrong with disliking when someone calls you cute, many guys also dislike that, why I also dislike being called as cute. Hence it's possible that some women will also dislike being called as cute.

Why? there can be many reasons for that but then those will be subjective to a person.

I love being called cute, but if he only calls me cute then I will start to think he only sees me as cute like a little girl. If you want her to know you like her then call her "pretty" or "beautiful" too or else she won't think you're interested.
