Why do girls try to make guy jealous?

A girl I use to have a crush who now has a boyfriend who isn't me, is trying to get me jealous. She giggles all the time when she talks to him on the phone. Then looks at me. She was playing a Facebook game against him and kept saying ugh I wanna beat him. Keeps saying other guys names. I'd assume friends. We work together me and her. I did ask her out and she said no. Why is she trying to make me jealous? I'm not at all jealous just annoyed. I ignored her a little and she didn't like it. I've caught her staring at me. I don't understand at all, she's got a boyfriend. If I had a girlfriend I wouldn't be doing this.

Well a couple of those could be you misunderstanding.
BUT if she is trying to make you jealous.. we do it to feel wanted. I am not for the jealousy game but I understand it. Feeling wanted is a very powerful feeling, and sometimes we just don't get it, and once you get in a relationship you don't get to go out clubbing and flirting with every guy to fulfil that wanted feeling. You have a partner, and yes they should be fulfilling it but if they aren't.. making another guy want you can make you feel good. And that is wrong to both you and her boyfriend.

It could also be she just genuinely doesn't know how it's affecting you, some people are clueless that way. She giggles and then looks at you, in her mind she's checking to see if she disturbed you or not. She wants to beat her boyfriend at a game and wants to share that, you're standing there so she tells you. She is just chatting and happens to know lots of guys, says their names. I mean it could be really innocent on her part. Or it could not be.

Her last boyfriend I guess was an a hole. So instead of breaking up with him she asked out a co worker while still seeing her boyfriend.

A-hole boyfriend or not, you sink to their level when you allow yourself to be a cheater. She does sound a bit desperate for "good" attention and feeling wanted. She just sounds entirely out of line with everything she's doing.

It would annoy me as well. But I think you're reading a bit too much into it. If she's having fun with someone else than let her have it. I understand totally tho what you mean by being annoyed a guy is giving attention currently to everyone else but me and it bugs me cause we used to get along great and I tend to get jelouse but then again it's not really my business who he talks to, so yeah just let her be...
