Girls, I gave the girl I love space after things got too weird , and she came back to me... girls please I need your views on this? ?

So there is this girl i'm so deeply in love with.
She doesn't love me back, and even tho she is always nice to me , etc she never considered me a friend, and told her I made her feel uncomfortable for pushing her to be so, so I decided to to give her space & time because I felt bad, to the point of leaving parties so she could be with her friends without feeling weird about having me around.
Six weeks later, she comes back to me saying things how she didn't want me to apologies to her ever again, I didn't do anything wrong, and didn't want me to do do this ever again and doesn't want me to get out of her way (aka leaving parties early etc) because she thinks i'm a really good guy and it's wasn't right for me to do this. She added how she thinks it's nice how much I care for her and how I think good things about her, but she added how she had a really bad past, how she can be a real bitch and I knew all that I wouldn't like her. I told her how I didn't care about her past, how I told her that the thing she did shouldn't define who she is, and she had to try and focus on the person she is now which she appreciated. but told me how she wanted us to be okay , that everything between us was okay, she wasn't angry at all , and didn't want me to think too much about "what we are or the relationship between us" and reassured me saying that none of her friends were judging me at all.
I just don't know why she told me all this? If she doesn't see us as friends, and made her feel uncomfortable etc then why she wrote all this? because to me it sounds like she somehow really care for me , but i can't see why since she doesn't even see us as friends... is there a chance she just doesn't think she deserves my love because of whatever she'd done? Help?

She's showing a big change in attitude there.
I believe it could either go two ways..
1. She's attention seeking yet making out that you're the weird one. Then when you gave her space she realised she wasn't gaining any attention anymore and that's why she's started speaking to you again.
2. Once you have her space she genuinely realised she was being a b*tch and wants to make sure that you're not upset because of her actions.

Either way I personally think you should be civil but keep your distance as her personality might switch again and the same thing might happen.

I wouldn't say that you should avoid her completely but just make small talk and don't get too involved unless she at some point decides that she wants the 'small talk' to turn into something more.
At the end of the day if she likes you as a friend after having a few chats then she'll make sure that the communication continues, if not then I'm pretty sure you'll be able to tell soon enough by her lack of response.

Sounds to me like she's lacking self confidence. She puts herself down and her emotions seem all over the place. If she came back to give you an explanation it shows she cares. Maybe not in a romantic or close friend way- but she cares for you as a person. If she didn't, she would of left things the way they were. It was obviously bothering her and she even complimented you oh how great a guy you are. Seems to me she doesn't feel good enough to be with someone like you. I say stay around- but bot too close. She seems like a girl who wants her space.

I suggest giving her space- but let your presence be known. at the parties go say hello then go visit with other friends.
