Me and my friends sit on each other’s lap all the time but there’s not really a specific reason we do it. I would probably say my friend janae and I sit on each other the most because we’ve always been close like that. They sit on my lap more than I do there’s because all my friends are smaller than me. Most of the time, they sit without asking and I’m okay with it. I don’t think it’s different with a guy and I’ve had guy friends sit on my lap also. Me sitting on a guys lap is different and nicer. We do wrap our arms around each other’s waist because it feels nice.
Its just a thing we do. Dont really know why. Even if the friends lap your sitting on is lesbian most of the time its nothing sexual (at least never in my experience). Would i sit on a guy friends' lap? depends in which one and if they were comfortable with it.

And sure, even though im straight id let a lesbian sit on my lap if it wasn't sexual. Also, yeah id let a guy friend sit on my lap as long as he knew it wasn't anything sexual, and he was small enough not to crush me.
When I said specific situations I meant that will you sit on each other’s laps at school etc... if there are chairs available or only when there aren’t any left?

I think its more of a "girl thing" because the relationship between two or more girls has a lot more visable affection, rather than boys. Also i wouldn't think of a guy as gay for that reason alone, i dont really see anything gay about sitting on someones lap if its between two friends. Also, lesbians totally do it as well, I see it in happen between all sorts of girls. I dont think sexuality or personality type has anything to do with this behavior in girls. Although, I've never seen two guys sitting in each others laps, I've done it/seen it between a guy and a girl (as friends of course).
would any of you guys (in your friend group) find it weird or judge him at all if a guy friend did sit on one of your lap's? Why would your friend group be okay but other's not ok?

Most the people in my friend group woukd care if a guy sat on our laps. Some girls that are not okay with it, aren't okay with it because they think of it as a sexual thing rather than a friendly action. I've sat on guys laps and they've sat on mine. Its an action showing trust in a person. Its more of a girl thing because us girls show the love for our friends much more outwardly and obviously. The reason (as far as im aware) that guys do it since its a more typical girl thing is because its they're showing their platonic love for a girl and not another guy.

To me a friend is a friend (obviously some are closer than others) regardless of gender, sexuality, etc; and i wouldn't do anything different it they were a guy or a girl. With all the guys that this action had occured with, they've all clearly shown that we are friends amd they like me.
Example: my friend Ronan and I were outside, everyone else was inside, and when we came back in I took the last spot on the couch. So in return he sat on me. As a joke and also because there was no space left for him.

its a friend thing, but guys don't do it often because they don't show their affection that way as much? Depends on how big the chair they're sitting on is. I don't know it pops into my mind randomly and I just decide to sit on their laps. I guess I do it more often when there's no seats available.
Usually the friends I do it with are really outgoing and they already show me they're okay with physical contact (ie through hugging) and so they're usually fine with it.
Lol I usually sit on my guy friend cause he's like twice my size. He sits on me as a joke sometimes.
I usually feel better with girls. I'm only okay with the guy cause we literally knew each other as babies. I don't think I'd do it with any other guy. I have a couple lesbian/bi friends and I do it with some of them. They've never made it awkward so I never thought too hard about it.

I mix it up with anyone who's around my weight. If they weigh more than me (guy friend) I'll sit on their lap and vice versa.
I've never really did it a long time. Legs fall asleep lol. A couple times I fall asleep on a friend ( I get too comfortable lol) but they'll either wake me up or set me down or move me or something.

Like the pictures above is it more common/comfortable for you to sit on your friends with your legs open/ spread out and with their legs in closed or do you sit in between their legs and have yours stretched out and closed. some answers I found some girls said they would not let a guy do it because they don't like touching guys... Like that's insulting right? As a guy I believe in equality and treating everyone the same not differently. Not letting a guy sit on your lap because he is a different gender makes no sense?
I'm not going to stand and I'm not going to sit on the floor. Friends let you sit on them. You're sharing. If you're both tired and it's only one seat? I'm sitting on you. I'm usually the one on top because I'm smaller. It's not often something you need to ask about. With your real friends it's just accepted. Sometimes not only do we wrap arms around each other but we imitate each other sitting on us. My friends have pulled me to them to sit. It's all just closeness and friendship.
I'll sit on my guy friends too. No difference to me.
I don't do this because I'm not a very "touchy" person (meaning I don't really hug people much and such). But my friends do. We're all around the same size and height. They do it for fun. They just go crazy with it (like tickle wars and poke fights). Doing it with a boy who's not family or something is different most of the time. It indicates a closeness between the two. Of course, it's too stereotypical to say that it's romantic when a boy and a girl do it, because romantic/sexual preference come into play.

I don’t sit on friends laps... i think last time I did this I was like in middle school. but I did sit on my first ex’s lap (who is a mechanic, so very able bodied) and I was surprised (don’t know why hahahah) that I didn’t hurt him. I’m 5’5 and 145. He’s like 5’9... don’t know his weight. Not my business. I never ask guys. If they bring it up that’s ok w me but I don’t ask :)
I change this actually. I have sat on friends laps who I have known a long time. I had a friend who I sat in her lap and had known her about three years when I did.

I only sat on my parents lap or my boyfriends lap its like a security thing to me. I wouldn't sit on a friends lap unless it was a girl. Guys usually take it as "ohh she likes me type and can send off misleading signals. Plus if you had a boyfriend i doubt he'd like his girl sitting on another dudes lap

I don’t sit on my girl friends lap for a long time because we’re not the kind of people that do that really. Yes my guy friend will sit on my lap for a while but they do it in a funny matter like because I’m small it’s funny or they give me a lap dance but in a joking way (all cloths of and not meant to be sexy at all). Yes my girlfriends sit on me but agin not for a long time.

I’m closer to my guy friends compared to my girls so the guys will sit there longer and visa versa and I've never been in a situation that called for me sitting on a friends lap, I mean sure I sit in my boyfriends lap a lot
