I have a really strong bond with a girl. We have known each other for a couple of years now. We are really good friends. We laugh, talk and hang out a lot. We like to spend time with each other, and i believe that we have chemistry that you cannot find anywhere else. Over the years i would always see her as a friend, but now i have developed strong feelings for her, so i asked her out on a date. The date went perfectly. We laughed, talked and enjoyed ourselves. That is why i saw it as the perfect oppurtunity to show her my feelings. On the way home we started to talk about romance and relationships, then i asked her if she could ever imagine being something more to me than a friend. She told me that she sees me as a friend/brother, and that hurts, but what hurts even more is that now she ignores me and treats me like a total stranger. I tried texting her, but she would not answer. I tried takling to her in person, but she just gave me the cold shoulder and walked away. This hurts really badly considering we had, and i hope that we still have, a strong relationship. I am thinking that i should give her a couple of days before reaching out again. I of course want her to be my girlfriend, but at this point i only really want my friend back... The date happend this week by the way.

I get the feeling that you may not have made it clear it was a date before you went. The romance topic and her choosing then to say you’re like a brother makes me think that she was surprised and trying to shut it down.
