Why does she act differently around me?

Hi,

I have been crushing on this girl for some time, and I notice that she acts differently around me than with everyone else. She seems to clam up when I'm around, and I don't know what to think. Normally when I talk to her she will smile and make eye contact and give me her attention, but she almost never laughs at my jokes or engages in teasing with me (which I'm told are very important.) I'll give an example.

The other night, me, her and a bunch of friends were playing cards and talking. She would act very sociable and friendly to everyone at the table but me. She would laugh at all of their jokes but not mine. She did try to get close to me on a number of occasions, close enough for me to smell her perfume and such. We were playing a card game where we have to drop a card in our hand on to the table, and then have someone else pick it up (I forget what the name of the game was.) One time I was deciding which card to drop when she reached over and plucked the card out of my hand, and then looked at me and gave me a big smile.

I don't know, I get a lot of good body language vibes from her normally, but why won't she laugh or engage in teasing? Girls, your advice would be most appreciated.

Ok so it sounds like she likes you, but the thing is when girls like a guy they often play hard to get which it seems like she is. She's probably not laughing at your jokes and stuff because she doesn't want to come across too keen and if she acts like this she has you hooked... By doing things like the card thing she is subtly hinting she is interested so you keep interested too and you keep playing her game...

If you want to check she's interested though, play her at her own game and try make her work for your attention but make it clear your interested at the same time. Hope I helped.

she could just not want to seem desperate. I don't think she's necessarily playing games. if she's already nervous, him ignoring hr, won't help her be more comfortable. guys are a lot less forgiving about girls being direct- tho, they think it is perfectly acceptable, & they think it should be welcome if they are- so maybe she's just being cautious.

I think she acts like a doof because she really likes you. Stay close so you can protect her from walking into a wall or tripping on her feet.

When are you going to ask her out? wth are you waiting for?
