So for months I had been talking to a girl on and off on Instagram, I asked her if she would like to go to coffee she said sure. So I said I would be in contact when I return to university.
but every now and then I would talk to her about stuff she posts until eventually I returned to university and asked again if she wanted to come for coffee

but she ignored me , so a day later I asked again.. I unfollowed her.. then she responded and said yes and that she is intimidated by me because I weight train a lot (even though she does) her whole Instagram is about fitness. So she said my legs intimidate her and I made a joke of it and said she must be lying and that I said I am intimidated by her good looks but it don’t stop me..

so then we arranged a day and time to go and meet and then I noticed she was saying see you tomorrow with winking faces?
why did she all of a sudden out winking emojis when she said see you tomorrow.. she never puts them

we met up and had coffee and I bought her one because I was feeling generous. We had a lovely chat. She seemed abit nervous.
so I walked her half way home and we agree to meet , and hugged and parted ways. But I wasn’t sure if she just said yes to meet for a meal in person to avoid being awkward? so I sent her a message saying I enjoyed our coffee and glad I invited her out. And gave her another chance to turn down the offer of another date. But she kinda hesitated to respond and then said that she was tlad she met me and enjoyed it and would love to meet again.. so I’m not sure if she’s just coming out to be nice? Or if she does like me?

She sounds abit shy maybe she is probably digging you. Tbh girls don’t really say things like we are glad to have met you, enjoyed it, or loved to meet again if she didn’t mean it. I know you’re feeling unsure or insecure. But believe in yourself. It’s actually a good sign for someone in general to do things they normally don’t do. It means you probably grabbed her attention and interest enough to take her chances with you despite it was not under her normal dating rules😄 And awww yay I knew she would agree to date two! I said I’d let her know when , and she liked the message , few days later she uploaded a picture and I said she looked amazing and she said “thank you with the emoji ☺️“

I’m just curious as she doesn’t really talk a lot on social media even tho she said she normally likes to get to know guys abit before dating.. but she said I was a
Rare case that she though why not just go for the date.

She did hesitate to originally come out saying I intimidate her. And she did act quite nervous but seemed ok. We gave each other a awkward hug before we parted ways..

It sounds like you both are a bit hesitant or cautious. You probably aren't used to her communicative style. It sounds like you kind of want more validation from her, but she also seems like she is letting you take the lead. I would suggest trying to make more conversation with her on texts to keep her interested than just relying on social media. If a guy told me he will let me know about the second date and that's it. I figure I would just wait for that plan only to see where it goes, but thinks he also isn't trying to still want to get to know me through texts or calls as much. It doesn't hurt to double message her and tell her you are thinking of her; ask how is her day; greet her which is always a plesant gesture; and so on :)

Maybe she took a while to reply because she was busy or just needed to think about it. But you should focus on that she is still responding positively and agreed to go out with you again :)

by the way why did you felt like it was an awkward hug? I do hate those awkward hug feelings to the ones we do like too :( haha. Maybe next time, you can hold onto her longer and closely to show her that you are interested in her :) I do wonder why she felt intimidated by you, did you ask why?

True she may be letting me take the lead.. I think you are right and there is logic with most you say, but I feel like she doesn’t want to talk as a result her acting that way. Like I will compliment her she will say thanks 😊.. then I’ll say my pleasure and she will just like the message or leave it at that.

Do you think maybe she just trying to be nice? Or do you think she would have said she only wants to meet as friends or something?

She did say I intimidate her and said I can provide her wrong she was kinda nervous to flirt but she did she she would love to come out and I am used to girls giving more validation however I did approach this girl with confidence and asked her out in a forward way so

Honestly you remind me of me when I am interested in a guy a lot and the same thing is happening. LOL. I think because you like this girl and she isn't giving you what you are normally used to, you feel like something is wrong or maybe she is not that interested. It even makes you a little more self-conscious or insecure by this logic. But as a female, when a guy tell us that he will "show" or "prove" that he is more than what we are concern/hesitant/unsure of... then, we would wanna see that you are what you say you are and it will be a lot more easier/attractive for us to want to continue with you. I am sure she is just waiting for you to show her that you are really interested (texts/calls/dates), you can take lead, and you are what you say you are to her :) You got this! Yasss that is the spirit! And focus on planning the second date. Tell her you are excited to see her again because I bet you are! Lol. And I am sure she will reciporcate too :)

If she was not into you or just think you are a friend, she would not feel the need to reply to your compliment on social media esp with a cute emoji face. She will actually just like it or ignore it. But she still responded positively. She might just be thinking "why isn't he trying to text me more or still getting to know me after the first date?" "why is he complimenting me on social media, but not texting or calling me?" "why did he told me he will not seem like an initimidating person, but he isn't really showing me anything?" She is probably thinking the same as you that you may not be that interested in her either LOL.
