Every single girl seeks approval. Most of them from men but some from their parents or their peers.
They are either perfect in their school work and attendance or they rebel and become a behavior problem
Most girls dress pretty to get boys to notice them and the ones who don't do that want attention for not doing that. Hey everyone, look at how much I don't care about attention.
It occurred to me but I dismissed it as a secondary motivating factor. The primary factors are acceptance. Acceptance by males for breeding and acceptance by society as a beautiful/attractive woman. Someone who feels accepted will certainly feel better about themselves
So basically, pick me up girls are what pick me up girls call each other.

My opinion is that most normal people are like this. We want the people we want to like us back and to pick us. It’s only bitter feminists and MGTOW who pretend otherwise, and many of those are also lying.
Ye but they bring other women down in the process just to seem cooler and more desirable which in reality is because they themselves are insecure in their ability to normaly Persue the people their attracted to and because of that they’ll step on other women to try and make themselves look better
Almost all women do this. Men too. The women I see speaking the most about "pick me" women also talk shit about those women. In fact often those women might not even be pick me women at all. It's usually feminists who use the "pick me" insult, often aiming at more traditionally-minded women when they haven't even put other women down at all, simply because they don't like them. Intrasexual competition is in our nature.
It’s based in misogyny and of you read my question I already state men can be pick me’a too.
And from the looks of it you don’t understand what a pick me is, no ones hating on girls for liking traditional concepts and wanting to be house wife’s/etc.
In fact, feminism encourages that. Theirs a divide that happened a while back with the feminist movement where it was debated and is still kind of debated on how woman shouldn’t be just able to stay “in the kitchen” so it was looked at as a complete evil for women and women who liked those types of things were vilified but now a days in feminism we recognize that women who enjoy doing that stuff with their own personal free will are completely fine and alright with doing so!
The concept of a pick me girl is defined by the male gaze. Almost everything a pick me girl will do isn’t because she likes it, it’s because she thinks it’ll make her different from other girls and therefore more desirable by men.
It’s toxic and almost every girl has gone threw a pick me girl stage at least once in her life.
Just look at the media promoted in the 2000’s, it was popular for a lot of movies aimed at teen girls to see a female protagonist who’s “not like other girls” but is seen as ugly and unattractive by men and later on in the films gets a makeover and once she becomes attractive she gets her love interest and everything’s happily ever after.
It’s been going on for a while now, it’s just recently that we’re calling it out.
They do though, I see it often. In fact I see women who will say that it's perfectly fine for women to be traditional, and then another time they'll talk shit about such women for no reason. They don't mean it, they say that it's okay because they don't want to seem like assholes. Liars. Feminism has never encouraged it, at all.
The male gaze? As in a girl trying to be attractive to a man? That's what I mean, everyone tries to be attractive to the people they're attracted to. That's completely normal and is not toxic, it's human nature. What's toxic about making yourself look more attractive?
This is what I mean, feminism is mostly about bitter hags convincing gullible young women who think they have a clue to believe in all of this absolute nonsense.

Umm, so the thought never occurred to you that maybe women dress for themselves and what they like and not for the attention of males or others
