Does she like me or just being nice or just see me as a friend?

'll try and keep this short, well there's a girl who I kinda know, and I told her last year that I liked her and wanted to get to know her better. She told me she just met someone the week before. (I know it's just a nice way of turning someone down) the next time I saw her, she was super nice to me staring at me and saying my name a lot. the next week after that I saw her she gave me the cold shoulder for no reason? but I still saw her staring at me all night. that was the last time I saw her for about 8 months. when i saw her again it was now Dec of last year, and right away she was talking to me in a soft sweet voice and playing with her hair when talking to me, and just this past week i saw her again, and she went out of her way to come over and see me, still with the same soft voice and big smile saying, hey it's been so long since i have last seen you! it's so good seeing you again and i couldn't believe she even remember my name! i mean she barely knows me and hasn't seen me in almost a year now., she didn't stare at me at all, but when i was leaving i went to say goodbye to her, i told her it meant a lot to me that she remembered me, and she said she was always thinking about me and wondering when the next time she'd see me again. because I'm so nice and so polite. it confuses me? that she knows i like her, but why tell me your thinking about me? and treat me differently and talk to me in a different tone of voice, than she does with anyone else. can anyone let me know if she likes likes me? or is just being nice? or just sees me as a friend? thank you for any advice

She might be interested but scared or not sure if you like her back. So she tries to not seem too “into you” out of fear of looking too eager. She’s probably waiting for you to make a move or ask her number or something. Are you sure she knows you like her?

She is sure I like her I have told her before. And I always tell her it means a lot to me the little things she remembers about me. Thank you for answering by the way!

She might not be sure about you then. Or she's playing games/leading you on and likes the attention. OR she just likes you as a friend. Either way I think you shouldn't expect too much from her atm. Just take things slow, be her friend and see how things progress.

yeah, it's really hard to tell one way or another. i mean sometimes she gives me attention, like last week telling me how she's been thinking about me wondering where I am? and when I say something nice in return back to her, she seems happy about it, but the next time I see her, she almost ignores me? but still makes a point of coming over to me to at least say hello to me. i do think she's a shy girl. i could be wrong about this, but I've always had a gut feeling she very guarded not just with me but, every guy. who talks to her, but again she always seems more soft voice and sweet around me.
