Why do girls get guys to help them with simple tasks?

While at work this young woman who I absolutely adore asked for my help 3 times in one day with reasonably simple work related tasks which I did.

Why do girls do this, is it laziness, attention seeking or just to take advantage of a guys good nature?

Really... you're asking this question? I'm not sure if this is demeaning to women or if it's a genuine curious question?

If you meant to ask this question, with the meaning behind it, such as degrading or trying to humiliate us females, then you can go dig yourself a hole. But if you're really curious and don't mean anything behind it, then I'll understand.

But to answer your question, there are a few reasons why women do this.
1) They do it to get the attention of a guy that they admire/want to talk to. This would be something that I would do and have done before
2) They ask because they don't want to do it. Yep, they're some people (in this case some females) who rather have someone else or a man do it for them, and
3) They simply don't know how to do the task and or are simply dumb or forgetful.

I used to ask for help from the guy I liked when I was a teenager into my 20s cause it gave me an excuse to talk to him. Sometimes I actually knew how to do it other times I musta been trying to get the numbers to match up for two long having another set of eyes helps... but its also helpful to get up go for a walk and come back. To see if he's nice or a self absorbed know it all.

Sometimes the way we are taught by someone the first time doesn't make sense or someone told us thats wrong we redue it get the same answer so might look for directions from you cause they feel like you have your shit together.

A sexual harassment complaint can get us in just as much trouble as you guys! And while I would rather NOT date a guy I work with, if I do happen to meet a really amazing. Guy at work, I'm not going to allow the fact that I work with him make me lose out on a guy I really like! But we are more subtle than men, so maybe asking for help, especially on easy things, perhaps we are gauging your response… both to us personally, and to the way you treat us even if its the third time we’ve asked you to help with the same thing! Why are all the possible options you have so negative? Maybe she just likes you? Usually men like to feel useful and display some form of competence in front of a woman that he likes to get their attention and impress them, so her asking for help is probably her giving you that opportunity to take. If you're really enthusiastic about it, she might take that as a clue that you might be interested in her.

Or maybe she really does need help and feels like she can come to you for it? Women get a lot of shit for not knowing things at work and asking for help more than men do. We can be just as competent or even more than men but the minute we need help with something, we're looked down upon. Your description sounds like a typical man in a workplace. She just hasn't seen this side of you and thinks she can trust you to not make her feel bad about it.
She might also just be incompetent...

I have no clue. I don't know anyone did that. I personally hate asking for help. I'd do everything I can, legitimately ANYTHING I can to do it myself even if I make it a hundred times harder then what it originally should be.
I'd only ask for help if I've given up and have no will left. And afterwards I get pissed off at myself for not being able to do it on my own.

It's because not all of the work is easy for girls, I know when it comes to working when guys sometimes have difficulty they can manage but for girls, if we can't do it we seek help but other girls want some attention.
