Too much is made about the legality of women going topless. In New York, for instance, it is legal for women to be topless on the streets, though we rarely see any bare-chested women of the female sort. As a matter of basic fact, when it comes to state law, 33 of the United States have no laws prohibiting the display of the female breasts in public venues. For an idea of which states, search it like I did, and you 'll see. One result you can start with is: https://gotopless.org/topless-laws.
I live in an area where bare breasts are legal. Breast feeding is accepted. Local laws and customs do limit such exposure to be sure, but laws are not on the books mandating coverage. Still, I have as yet to see a bare-breasted woman on the street or in any store in the over 60 years during which I've been aware of mammaries in all their sizes, shapes, and textures. Were a woman to appear without frontal chest covering, I might evaluate whether they were attractive or not, just as I often evaluate faces and hands of the people I meet.
Personally, I tend to think the human body is not shameful, in any manifestations there-of. The female human breast is an evolutionarily developed enlarged sudoriferous and sebaceous gland system primarily designed to feed the young and only secondarily designed to attract attention of potential mates. The taboos surrounding this specialized sweat and oil gland system is created by meddling humans who think that controlling visibility will remove lust. Paradoxically, hiding breasts, or any body parts, makes those parts more enticing, not less.

Sorry but you are the reason women will never be allowed to go topless legally in most public places. The fact is women are not scene as predators and us guys are always presumed to be pervy until proven guilty. That and the fact women get more opertunity to sexualise themselves and sell their bodies for profit. So all these OnlyFans, pornstars, celebrities and influencers are not willingly going to freely strip off. That and the fact governements think child and teenage boys will think differently of women and that will lead to them objectifying women. I am a photographer and believe in promoting natural beauty that doesn't realy all the time on sexual exploits. I get it why can us men show the nipple and chest. Simple women don't visibly get turned on and start jacking off. That and you poll any woman who currently makes money from showing themselves that be fully nude or ripping you off to see bikini photos, of they would freely walk around public nude? Also yo uwpuld get the prudes and the save the children chants and men heckling etc. So it's a mix of both genders as to why womem will never be legaly in UK or USA to go topless in public.
I think it would also desexualise breasts. I think the allure of breasts tend to be because they’re an intimate area and men are intrigued. Obviously I think men would still like them, but I don’t think they would stare at them as they would if a woman has a low cut top on. If all women were like that then it would be no different to seeing someone’s arms! People who had particularly nice ones may get a glance or two, but I really think breasts would lose their appeal to some degree.

Women would go topless a lot more often if it wasn’t men who objectify us and view our breasts as nothing but sexual organs for them to stare and drool at. And if it wasn’t for fear of r*pe and SA, women wouldn’t be scared to go topless. It’s a sad world we live in.

There were several court cases in the US back in the 1970s in which it was discriminatory to allow men to be topless in public but not women. Several women protected the law by staging topless protests, and won several court cases. So, although it's not advertised, it is not illegal for a woman to go topless, so long as she is not doing anything that would be considered immoral by the average person.
For example, it's not illegal for a woman to walk around topless; it is illegal if she flaunts her boobs and plays with them in public.I know women going topless sounds great -- but it isn't. Where I live (Columbus, Ohio, USA) it's actually not illegal for women to be topless in public. Now, if you come Columbus, you won't see any women walking around topless. Women just choose to keep their shirts on (plus, I don't think many women know that there are no city ordinances requiring them to wear a shirt). We have a festival, however, called ComFest where it's not uncommon to see a woman here or there without her shirt on. Here's the thing... the women who choose to go topless there are almost always the women that you DON'T want to see topless. It's almost never the fit, attractive women who take their shirts off.
Side note: I do remember a news story years ago in Columbus where some lady in her 60s or 70s was mowing her lawn by riding around topless on a riding lawnmower and the neighbors called the cops to complain and the cops informed the neighbors that the lady wasn't violating any city ordinances.Women are beautiful so it will be quite eye-pleasing..
If toplessness was legal, it's not like women would be topless all the time all of the sudden. Places where it's unacceptable for men to go topless would still be unacceptable for women to go topless, and it would still be their choice whether to go topless or not, and most women probably wouldn't make that choice. But, I do think the choice of whether to wear a top or not should be left to the woman, and the government shouldn't dictate it for her.
I don't know why it's not legal. If men's aren't considered inherently sexual, why are women's? That being said, legality and etiquette are separate things. I probably would prefer people keep their clothes on inside, but somewhere outdoors like the beach or the park, I think it's fine for a man or a woman to take off their shirt, particularly in warmer weather.
I already breastfed in public so I'd be much more comfortable if everyone else had their boobs out and it was more normalized to show breast in public
It already is. The vast majority of states actually have laws on the books making clear that women can't be arrested under state law solely for being topless in settings where it's OK for men.
When you are at a topless beach or swimming pool and there are 100+ women everywhere who are topless it just feels completely normal and everyone around you is having a good time enjoying the day. So I personally can’t see an issue with women who want to be topless. In other societies women work beside the men topless because it’s comfortable.
Well on the summer weather can get heat stroke. so for a man to take off a shirt to cool down to avoid over heating and heat stroke is fine nobody gives it a second thought !
People go crazy if a woman takes her shirt in public we'll women can over heat and get heat stroke too
In Colorado it's been legal for about 10 years but fewer than 1% of women do it.
So if women want to take their shirts and bras off in public let them- m
i have done it at nude beaches but i don't feel any great desire to do it or see it in everyday life and i don't think many girls would walk around topless
I think even if it were a lot of women would not feel comfortable/safe to do it anyway. Personally, I don't care as it's literally the same as a guy being shirtless - both can be sexualized and be treated as something that's casual/normal
nasty. people should stick to being decent when going out in public. i saw a woman tanning and she had no bra on and i was like, da fuk? why do you need to tan your boobs? whose gonna see them?
Extremely uncomfortable. Plus it would only be a bad thing for those women who do it. And they just cry victim when something happens and completely disregard the fact that they put themselves in that position. I wouldn’t feel sorry for them at all
I take a middle ground. Not wanting to see it at the mall, for example. At the beach, hot tub, or on a cruise ship pool, sure.
Anywhere that you wear a bathing suit (beaches and pools) should be topless. Boobs are not a big deal!
Just out on the street? No, as if we don't worry enough about being groped or worse sexually assauted by some stranger fully clothed.
I would be ok. I dont care but i would be for the little babys who finanally can get fed without the annoying blanket
Doesn't bother me either way. If they are okay with it then I am to. It's should be a personal preference just like sexuality religion and politics. I have friends who are gay and I straight up told them. Hey bro to each his own I'm human so i can't judge. All I ask is to not come onto me other than that we cool. Me and him still talk sometimes.
Seeing them in parks or sports field and courts, can easily get hard for many men to keep their focus on he game.
Such traditions are also a traffic risk for straight mal drivers who see boobs on the streets and forget what stick to grab.i think it's mostly gain for men and loss for women.
