Why do guys get sick of their girlfriends?

My boyfriend broke up with me after 8 and a half months of dating. He was my first boyfriend and we never had any huge fights and then after a week of me being away at church camp I came back to find him saying he wanted to break up. He said that he's not ready for this serious of a relationship and that I was too clingy. (Which I wasn't) he also said that he didn't get to hang out with his friends enough, but it's not like he has to ask me permission to go out with his friends... I never held him back. I'm just confused. Why did he break up with me? is he just scared because we both want different things for the future? he's 18 and I'm 16.

i don't understand guys that do that. I certainly wouldn't have. But funny you mentioning church camp, because I met a girl at church camp this year and I was 2 years older than her also, I'm 17 and she's 15, and we really liked each other, but there was no way it was going to work out, outside of camp she surrounds herself with other guys and she likes girls a little too much if you know what I mean, oh well...

We didn't meet at church camp though :p lol. I just went to church camp while he stayed back home. But the day I got back he wanted to break up...

There's too many reasons to list why guys (or girls) get sick of their partner. In a lot of cases people just grow apart or realize they don't have that much in common after the initial honeymoon phase wears off. You're also both very young which can often play a role in the reason for the breakup.

Girl its his loss! Honestly boys that age just wanna have a girlfriend and go party.. They have the two options right in front of them and they know which one they should choose but they don't go with the good choice because they're dumb.. They always mess up its not your fault.

It could be just an excuse and he was just trying to hide the real reason. He could be afraid of commitment or he could've just gotten tired of you and wanted someone new. Don't take it personally he's stupid and it's his loss.

He said that he sometimes likes holding hand and sometimes doesn't. So any attention I would give him when he wasn't in the mood for it he was bothered by...
