Do any other girls/women dress “tough”, to make themselves look more confident/cold/emotionless?

I am a very soft person, very empathetic and loving. But I’ve had that turned back on me multiple times recently, and I’m tired of it. This is weird, but I feel like wearing jackets and more androgynous clothes, guards/hides my inner soft side. Makes me look more guarded and reserved, which makes me feel safe/unable to be taking advantages of.

Does this make sense?
