I've known this girl for years. Unfortunately, she dated a friend of mind for a year and they broke up 2 years ago.
I've only ever seen her as a friend, and she once asked me to hang out and I was reluctant over how my friend would feel.
This was a year ago.
I told my friend who's now in a new relationship and he seemed cool with it. He's moved on. But, I never asked her out.
Fast forward 1 Year later. We talk here and there on social media and she always makes a long post for me on social media every year. This time, she was calling me out PUBLICLY for not taking her out.
So, I reached out to her. We made plans to hang out, went for dinner and it was amazing.
We hit it off and got really drunk. She didn't even bring up her ex once...
We took some drunk photos, made plans for a movie and the next morning, I see she posted them on Instagram 😭.
I felt so embarrassed because I hadn't told my friend that I was taking her out. And although I had a good time, part of me wonders if she's using me to get back at her ex through her friend? Or I'm just overthinking things?
I didn't get that feeling in the date, I got to know her differently and she's really sweet... But it makes you wonder.
