We'll all we have to do is compare the definitions.
Female: ADJECTIVE of or denoting the sex that can bear offspring or produce eggs, distinguished biologically by the production of gametes (ova) which can be fertilized by male gametes: "a herd of female deer" NOUN a female animal or plant:
@Subarugirl I don't think we all agree. nor are we using the same dictionary, evidently. Cut and paste from a quick google of "female definition":
" noun: female; plural noun: females a female animal or plant. "females may lay several hundred eggs in two to four weeks" a female person; a woman or girl. "both males and females accumulate economic knowledge at a similar rate""
adjective: female of or denoting the sex that can bear offspring or produce eggs, distinguished biologically by the production of gametes (ova) which can be fertilized by male gametes. "a herd of female deer" relating to women or the female gender. "a female name" (of a plant or flower) having a pistil but no stamens. (of parts of machinery, fittings, etc.) manufactured hollow so that a corresponding male part can be inserted.
If you want to be offended of course, it's best to cherry pick the definitions that fit the narrative.
you say "unless it is being used in a medical, biological, legal or academic context..." so basically 90% of the time it's totally fine. But if a doctor, nurse, CNA, EMT, legal aide, attorney, police officer, teacher, professor, or any other slew of extremely common professions (especially if you put them all into a larger group, it's unlikely you don't see several of these people every day) who is used to using this term in what you deem an appropriate fashion then clocks out, it's inappropriate? I don't know about that.

People these days always look for reasons to be offended.
Exactly
Well, it’s true. I don’t know how that’d be offensive.
Is it any worse than the newest term of “Birthing Person?”
No. Scientifically, that is what we are, female.
Depends on the culcture.
Some places don't mind using female, some do.
No dude--you have it backwards. Calling a female a woman is offensive.
God! Get it right man!
It's not really but it really depends on the context and how it's used.
I mean context probably matters. If you say something like “The female act as though….” that does sound really suspicious.
Doesn't offend me at all.
Only to easily triggered amebic minded false victim twat feminist
actually it depends on the context and how it's used like just about anything else.
@Subarugirl I generally use it now just to see if someone gets triggered and then I know who to avoid.
I'm not sure
I need the definition of a woman or female, to make a better decision.
No it wouldn't if used in the right context.
okay good to know
No. What's wrong with it?
Depends on the context.
How ever I think that we can all agree that replacing woman with the word female is designed to be dehumanizing.
really how so?
We'll all we have to do is compare the definitions.
Female:
ADJECTIVE
of or denoting the sex that can bear offspring or produce eggs, distinguished biologically by the production of gametes (ova) which can be fertilized by male gametes:
"a herd of female deer"
NOUN
a female animal or plant:
Woman:
NOUN
an adult female human being
so if one were to use it as the following: YOU FEMALE. that would be offensive correct. but if not used to insult it should be fine
unless it is being used in a medical, biological, legal or academic context there is really not much or a reason to refer to a women as females
okay thank you for your time
“How ever I think that we can all agree that replacing woman with the word female is designed to be dehumanizing.”
Hah.

I suppose it depends on the context... But no.
I don't see why it would be.
no? unless it's to twit users ig
a lot of them don't seem to like it
Women are offended by everything. So, yes.
Depends on how its being used
