I’m seeing this narrative everywhere on pro trad femininity pages, that “my money is mine and his money is for the family.” Ok, what is she doing with her money? This is one message from women I just can’t behind.
The thing is, the average man in America is only making around 50-60k a year. Are these ladies expecting a family to live off him long term when that’s his income? That’s going to be rough unless you’re living in cow town Indiana. Some want us to believe they’re pulling rich husbands but they’re actually just sugar daddies with a bunch of other side chicks. gross. Enjoy being a single mom stuck doing all the parenting. I’ll take a 50/50 relationship over this any day.

I bought us a house so my husband would continue to work with his money.
I'm conservative and don't know what "trad femininity" means. I don't think my great great grandparents working on some farm in Bavaria knew about such a thing either.
Maybe you're just mixing and mistaking being a spoiled bitch with traditional values.
But I can say I also don't understand the obsession with being a "working woman" and obsessively pursuing and choosing a career over creating a family.
Simply put, family and children come before anything else for me. If you're working class, the more of you work the better. It's okay and necessary, unless you're neglecting your kids.
If you have higher (default) status, then you can afford to work less and spend more quality time with your kids and family. And no, there's nothing wrong with that. If you can afford it, then enjoy.

I believe firmly in 50/50 in a relationship. I don’t believe in sugar daddies or gold diggers. That’s not love. If I love you, we’re both working together towards our future and for our present. I’m not stealing a cent from you and I’ll share what I have with you because that’s what partners do. If you make more money than me, good for you. Vice versa. Only females impressed with man’s money are lazy and will leave you for someone else with deeper pockets any day.
Yes. That’s exactly how I am. I’ve always went 50/50 too because that’s how I prefer to give value to the household. Another thing is, (guys, chill) is that when most men provide for you, they start acting like you owe them sex and owe them home cooked meals and an immaculate home all because he pays my rent…and I’m not even about to tolerate a man who thinks or acts that way. But maybe that’s just me. But the main reason is, I enjoy contributing monetarily. I enjoy providing for myself, and relieving the financial stress of having him pay all my shit in addition to his.
Because traditional feminity movements base on the economical situation of a time where groceries and all the other things you need for living where cheaper so it was no problem of a woman to stay at home all the time. They are therefore portraying ideal situations that more than often are not achievable.
So I agree with you that many if not all of these blogs forget to talk about the compromises a family has to make if only he is working and that it would make him go work all day and cut him out of the family life.
@Lionman95 But most of these women are not romantic and they don't want a true actual relationship anyway (even if they want to have the appearance of one, via a legal marriage and a shared house and children). So they couldn't care less if their husband is never home. They would be perfectly fine to have him away at work even 20 hours a day. They don't enjoy his presence anyway. He's just a tool (like a hairdryer or a cellphone charger.)
@Jamie05rhs I'm not sure about that to be honest maybe some but not all. There are especially in Conservative Christian circles many girls that dream of being a stay at home mum and I doubt that many of them aren't romantic. They are sometimes even used to being rather poor.

@Jamie05rhs That's for sure ans I don't want to neglect that the church is any different from the rest of society nevertheless I slightly disagree with you on that but that doesn't make your opinion less valid. I just met girls that would prefer such a traditional lifestyle but what they often miss is that such a traditional way of living is nowadays harder than it was back in the days hence taxes and prices rose. Don't get me wrong and I never intended to stay that traditional girls don't use guys for money but in my experience a lot of girls that would prefer such a lifestyle have false hope and dream of idealistic situations that can't get real. They are simply spoken naive.

Though I will add that a lot of them (the girls you're speaking of) are conditioned to believe that way because of the "religion" taught to them by their mothers. So they think that's the "Biblical" thing to do. (Being a stay-at-home wife and mother.)

my dad has one job and gets ss, as he's retired. her 2nd job, gives her a little pocket money for herself but her career (her first job) and his job, is money for the house and everything else. They help each other

Yeah I don't really like the idea of all of that because it's just not fair. I believe in 50/50 and if you're not going to pay then you better do all the work in the house and take care of everything else. I don't agree with living off of someone because you expect them to be your money bag.
most men can sniff this kind of woman out a mile off and they usually end up living an unsatisfied life. This kind of person (its not limited to girls) are pretty toxic and muddy the waters for all the good people willing to work hard, whether that is working hard in exchange for money or working hard to make a nice life, for entitled people, nothing will ever be enough, they ususally end up unhappy and blame everyone/everything for their unhappiness
I think that more than "feminity", it's just being plainly entitled. A woman can make her own money and bring her share to be table and still be feminine if she chooses.
When we got married, my wife brought the house, while I brought funding for her family business. Now there's a joint venture in the works between her and my family.
I saw a post somewhere about a couple who split their bills according to their earnings. Eg if she makes 1k and he makes 2k, they split 1:2, which I think is fair enough. Or else split 50:50 but live according to the means of the lesser earning partner.
Because that's how being traditional is. Once they marry, have childern only the man will be working so makes sense in the beginning for him to be paying for everything.
Exactly. Men who provide expect women to stay home and not be making her own money. These ladies don’t even know what traditionalism is. They only know a watered down version where they see a sugar daddy. They don’t see the restrictions placed on them.
It's not even that it's watered down it's they are intentionally being a terrible spouse. It's not 1950. If you truly want a traditional arrangement and all parties are happy there's nothing wrong with that. To each their own. If a woman works too then she has to pitch in financially. People get hung up on 50/50 like it needs to be literally 50/50. I wouldn't vacuum half the carpet and say... honey this is equality lol. Two people need to equal 100%. That means some days it's 60/40 80/20 55/45. You get my point. We can't keep score with each other because that's not healthy.
Me and mine keep things equal but we don’t keep score because sometimes you can’t. The older you get, life comes at you. We’ve experienced illness, injury, the deaths of our parents that had caused an imbalance in contributing to the household or relationship. Things like that you have to just deal and move on.
Yes and No from Guy... Nothing more enjoyable than a "in my head happy pleased lady smile". That's one way to see it. Purse out the blue or whatever. I do expect some common sense applications on her part as well.
Women like that aren't serious about relationships, or wanting to build a life and family if that's what you want) together. It's just another moniker for "sugar baby in disguise". Kick it to the curb and find a real woman.
