There's this girl I've seen around the mall, who lives in my area. She's single and I've been meaning to work up the courage to speak to her.
Saw her walk into a restaurant today and thought it would be cute to pay for her meal and leave her a "Random Act of Kindness" note, but hesitated because I didn't want to be creepy.
Thoughts? Should I have paid and left the note?

What will that achieve? It is anonymous. You will be exactly zero steps closer to her knowing who you are and that you like her. If you fancy her, you need to take a chance. While this is a kind gesture to make someone’s day, it is not going to bring you any closer to a meaningful conversation with her.
If you really want to be kind and give someone a random act of kindness, make it truly random and not have a motive. Go to the restaurant, give the card and money to the host/hostess and tell them to pick anyone they want. That way it is random as you put it.
If you like this girl, go talk to her. That is the only way you will ever know if you have a chance. I had to do exactly that with my husband. Take a chance before it was gone. Don’t waste an opportunity that you might not have again.
No, that is a bad idea. The reason why you should not do it is because she will
1. Feel obliged to reciprocate (as the card above suggests)
2. Not know who it is from and your action will be for nothing until you take up all your courage and introduce yourself and tell her it was you that offered her meal.
Now, if she does not like you, she may be angry at herself for accepting the free meal and may even react negatively to your approach thinking that you are attempting to bribe her into something she had no intentions to do.
Simply take up all your courage and introduce yourself without putting her in an uncomfortable position. Good luck.
