I do very much enjoy the clean shaven look too, it's just that my skin is so incredibly sensitive, even if I use the most expensive electric shaver on the market, my skin will always be irritated and red. I have tried everything. I just HAVE to go for the stubble look in order to live a normal irritation-free life. It's also a lot less work. My beard genetics are next level. It grows so fast, I would have to shave twice a day in order to maintain that perfect clean shaven look, and even when I'm clean shaven, the roots of my hairs are so thick that my face turns green because of the black roots underneath rather pale skin.
