I’m American I hold the door open for women. To me it’s polite I was trained to hold the door open for women. Mainly in Seattle because that’s the only major city I have to go to. I don't know if this is a trend thought the United States but wtf American women. A go to any other country and I do not get cashed out. I’ll get a weird look from Japanese women until they realize I’m white and that polite and I guess white culture. But Japanese women love it. (Guys if you want to pick up a Japanese check, hold the door open for her it intrigues her.)
I've never had a problem with this, no idea. I hold doors open for men too at times, it's a common courtesy, like using the blinker on your car. Maybe it's a personality thing for some, not a male/female thing.
If the woman gripes about the door held open, either try something else or let that one go.

I was taught at a young age that gentlemen hold doors open for women and the elderly which I still do. Hell, I even open the car door for the wife and close it when she's inside.
And I am glad to see the younger people holding the door for me and/or my wife.
I have no problem with someone opening the door for me because I do not like touching door handles
okay, but how longggg will you hold it for? And are you willing to bargain?

There's nothing wrong with it. I hold the door and I DGAF what feminists think about it.
I don’t know. Most people appreciate a nice gesture and if someone gets angry over that…. They’re just not worth it.
I was also raised with this as a polite thing to do. I still do it, and haven’t gotten any negativity about it. Positivity if anything.
As for Japanese women it’s unfortunately difficult to find one who’s a Christian.I hold the door open for men and women and nobody has given me shit for it yet. Some people give me weird looks but most people are grateful or ignore me.
In my country it's normal.
I guess American women don't want to be treated with respect.😂😂😂
