My best friend & I were talking as usual and we started talking about our old job which we both used to work at the same company for so we had the same manager. I told her how the manager who is a woman was confronting me about something and she kept asking me to look at her while she was talking to me because I was looking away. My best friend then says ‘Are you a lesbian to keep staring into her eyes?’ I feel like it was kind of random lmao, what does she even mean by that?
Actually I think your freind missed the piont. In the professional world, no matter what your insecurities are... you look people in the eye when they are talking. Especially in business, and if this is a mans world... any woman that will not look you in the eye when you are talking, or they are speaking is not only rude but makes them think you are not trustworthy.
Your freind meant to imply your boss is gay, when in reality she is teaching you that if you want to be taken seriously as person in the professional world, you need to look people in the eye.

It's rude to not look someone in the eyes when they're speaking to you. That's why your boss kept telling you that. It's the same way with men.
I couldn't look at the girl i like, when i told her i liked her, in the eye, only because i couldn't do it without smiling or laughing. I just wanted to get it "over with"
... your friend is weird and probably homophobic, frankly. Sounds like she tried to mean it like an insult.
Looking people in the eye isn't tied to sexuality. In most places, it's considered polite or a sign you're paying attention if you look at the people you're talking to.
But it also sounds like your boss was yelling at you and you didn't look hear in the eye. Which is also pretty normal.

You're supposed to make eye contact with someone when you talk to them. I don't know what your friend does but that's an awful weird comment to make. Why tf would that make you lesbian for looking at someone's eyes? 😆 I'm bi and when I talk to someone I look them in the eyes outta respect. Has zero to do with my sexuality lmao. You're friend sounds like she has some sexual insecurities.
