Small talk everytime we at work, why?

This girl at my job, husband, 2 or 3 kids, whatever. Anyway she'll strike up a conversation with everybody else and it'll last bout few minutes. Cool. Then she'll walk up to me, get my attention ( tap my arm, smile infront of me, say goodmoring), then say one word sentence.

" I went to taxo bell yesterday. It was good."

"Im like where you go, what did you order?"

She said i don't know to both questions. Then she said went somewhere far.

I don't know how to respond to that, cause she does this everytime. one word sentence that don't mean shit. On one I want her stop talking to me cause knows how to strike better conversation on the other hand I want pretend like I'm busy every time. What would you do if have fetch information from a one word sentence from a girl who started the conversation?

Bro that's weird, I'd be confused too with those one word convos she keeps trying to start. A few things could be going on:

- She might be shy and just isn't good at small talk, so that's all she comes up with.

- Could be tryna get your attention but not sure what to say after. Some girls are awkward like that.

- Might even have a little crush and doesn't know how to properly flirt without being obvious.

My advice - keep it short and friendly when she talks to you, but don't try too hard to carry the convo yourself if she ain't contributing more. Like if she says "Taco Bell" just smile and be like "Oh yeah? Cool." Then casually excuse yourself to stay busy.

Or you could lightly tease her like "You know one word ain't gonna cut it right? Give me more than that!" And see if she opens up.

At least responding lightheartedly takes pressure off you both. And who knows, maybe she'll improve at chatting if you keep it playful!
