Why are there long LINES at WOMEN RESTROOMs?

This question is prompted by

Is it about time that we have COED Restrooms so the guys finally get a taste of long lines?

Why are there long lines at women restrooms, compared to men's restrooms?

Here are some possible reasons. What do you think?

1. Women have smaller bladders than men and have to pee more often.

2. Men use urinals to pee and there are more urinals in the men's room than stalls/toilets in the women's room

3. Women have to take time to get undressed to use the restroom, while men just unzip to pee.

4. Women are more sanitary than men, who often leave without washing their hands, while women always wash before leaving.

5. Going to the restroom is a social experience for women, for men it's just nature calling.

6. Women have to check their makeup before leaving, men don't.

This is in no way a complaint about women and long lines. It's just an attempt at trying to understand why they happen.

Women need bigger restrooms and more accommodations to make their restroom outing experiences more comfortable:

-Heated toilet seats

-Self disinfecting and cleaning seats (bidets, cleanliness is next to godliness)

-Only luxury toilet paper =>3-ply

-Optional padded seats

-Lighting effects and ambient music

-Fragrance dispensers

-Stall TVs like the wall TVs men have for urinals

-Complementary tampons and makeup samples like they're cruising Costco

-More stalls and more toilets

-Complementary chocolate candy and disposable tierras at the exit

The more time spent in leisure in those restrooms, the better they feel and thus less pressure to spend money shopping.

Men’s bathroom footprints are fine, because I can piss just about anywhere.

Oh, I've heard some horror stories about women in the bathroom! (Responding to number 4, above). I've heard they might leave used pads and tampons stuck to the ceiling, one girl used the shitter, wiped her ass with her bare hands and smeared the shit all over the walls, etc..
One night, I was helping to run sound at a Todd Rundgren concert at a fairly small venue and met this gorgeous girl there. It was 2-night event. At the first one, she went to the bathroom and when she came out, her purse was missing! The next night, I met up with her again and she said she found it in the bathroom in or behind the tank on the shitter (I forget which).

Lines aren't usually long. Most of us dont even actually use public restrooms. We gang up in front of the mirrors to check ourselves out and gossip. I’ve never actually seen women waiting outside a restroom here. The school, mall and movie bathrooms often had about 20 of us in there chatting

Your list is pretty accurate. Using the restroom is a bit more involved for us. I never used the restroom as a social gathering place though.

it's a mix of all the reasons you said haha - i personally pee more often yeah, i don't know how many urinals there are compared to stalls but we need to properly unzip and sit, sometimes people put tissues down and everything, and we always generally wash our hands and check in the mirror, talk to people etc

think about it. our process takes way longer than men's process. all you guys do is whip it out, and then zip back up. like? and plus if we're on our period? add another 3 minutes to that.

but yes, all of those reasons seem accurate to me.

I spend at least a full mintue cleaning a public toilet before I use it. Also tp in there ain't that great so can take some time to wipe fully dry. And changing tampons/pads can take a mintue. Lastly we actually wash our hands lol

Because women spend a lot of time checking themselves out. Adjusting their looks in the mirror. They have to remove their clothes sometimes to pee. Or are on their period and that can get messy. But mostly they waste time on vanity and putting on make up and so

I like the socialization theory about why it takes women so long in restrooms. I think they basically just sit in there and gossip with each other. Also, when they go to the restroom it's not just a matter of using the toilet. They do that, but they also have to check their hair and fix it if it's messed up and check their makeup and fix it if it's messed up and gossip with other women and before you know it, many minutes have passed.

I hate an avoid disgusting public restrooms as much as I can. If I am in a situation where I have to use one, it will be the least used, most remote, most private one that I can find or I will hold it the best I can.

7. They have to spend an hour talking to each other.
And, have you noticed? They always go in pairs! If you're in a restaurant and one gets up to go, they ALL get up to go!!
One night, this woman sitting at a table stood up and every woman in the place did the same and she had to tell them all, "False alarm, girls. I'm just straightening out my dress."

It is all of the above. I had a female friend who would drink one beer and have to pee every ten minutes. I had taken her in the mens room sometimes it it was empty because she would pee her pants.

I've been in a bar a couple times where there was a line and girl was about to wet `em and one of the guys checked the gents for anybody in there and then let her use that while he stood outside guarding the door so no guys went in.

I don't think 4 and 6 are contributing factors for the lines when they form. As the time at the sink is probably less than the time spent in the stall. I can wash my hands faster than I can use the urinal; and I was like a surgeon going into surgery.

I agree most with #2 and #4 and would add that some women will spend longer in the bathroom if menstruating which I guess would lead to longer wait times
