Hey guys, first post seeking help. So this girl asked me to go with her to prom today, and I have been texting her as a friend for the last couple of weeks (Also had a mini crush on her) and today she asked me to go with her, I said yes as I have never been to a dance my whole HS career because I was either uninterested, in a relationship, or working. I was excited at first and later asked her if she wanted to go as friends or as a date she said friends which I get and understand (was a bit sad about this) but I began to think about it. Why would she ask me when she so easily could've asked someone else whom she had known for longer and why would she specifically ask for me to go with HER and not her friends and her? I'm just confused maybe Im overthinking it but I'm just curious as to what you guys think about this. Thanks!

I haven't really been too interested she is very nice and pretty but my last relationship kinda messed me up 2 years with her I would be happy to go with her as a date but I wasn't going to pursue unless she made a step and I thought she did
