Basically, all of them make you dependant, but you have a window of time to take them in which you won't become dependant. Zimovane are gorgeous little hypnotics, and they're STRROOOOOOOONG. They work on me. And I'm on these ones, Tamazapan, and they're FANTASTIC. Within 15 minutes of taking it you feel sleepy, but.. Well, they make me HORNY. I mean, I'm talking like, the horniest I've ever been. I was shaking, like, quivering. (And Tia - Enchanted - heard ALLL about that one, LOL). And then when you sleep, its one DEEP sleep, like, trance-like f***ing sleep.
Both of which you can take every night for 2 weeks before you get addicted; but the can get you into a rhythmn, and it'll sort it out.
I take Nytol regularly. You don't become dependant on it, and it really works. Its not as powerful and it doesn't set a rhythm, but you can honestly take it every night and not NEED it, and they're cheap as hell. If I'm off the hardcore hypnotics or tranquillisers, I go for them, and they never fail. But if you're not sleepy, they won't induce it.

Fix your set-up. Try putting a pillow between your legs or shifting your mattress. This doesn't seem like a matter of insomnia, just pressure all over your body causing you to toss and turn.
Also, oversleeping can cause this. You need about 8 hours of sleep. Your body stays awake for at least 16 hours. If you sleep for 9-10 hours, your bedtime is pushed ahead 1-4 hours. Try forcing yourself to wake up after 8 hours.
See? Pills have nothing to do with it.
I have had problems falling asleep too. But it is mostly due to stress and not being able to relax and shut my brain off and stop thinking. I got a very mild sleeping pill from a therapist for just that part of falling asleep.
My advise would be to talk to a therapist or a doctor to get something that can work for you. Melatonin is NOT a vitamin. It is a hormone, just like oestrogen in birth control pills, and it has a lot of side effects like drowsiness and you should avoid driving and such after using it.
I would suggest talking to a sleep expert/therapist. There are a lot of techniques for falling asleep that doesn't include pills. Good luck.
I ahve the same problem too sometimes, because my emotions are in its top. Like I'm too happy or excited. What helps for me is doing something really active. Tire yourself out. It would be smart to do it somewhere on the day, not right before you want to go to sleep. Be sure not to sleep too much either. Also, refrain from caffeïn. I take pills with pure melatonin, and they work fine for me. I think you might want to try them as well.
This isn't a pill, but my mom has the worst time sleeping about 50% of the time, so she drinks Marley's Mellow Mood and it knocks her right out :P It depends on the person, though; it doesn't have much effect on ME (my fix is soothing music). It's still worth a try if you don't want to resort to pills yet.
link It's all-natural, too.
If you want something that isn't addictive try getting a vitamin called Melatonin, its sure to help and calm your sleeping patterns. But its mighty pricey, we have melatonin in the brain but since you cannot sleep right you might be losing them somehow, how many hours a day do you sleep? and do you drink coffee?

Antihistamine pills can help, but with a long time of using, then you get dependant too. But if you swallow them only from time to time, there isn`t any problem. Of course in a small dose.
Dude I took like half a pill of ambien, knocked me right out.
lol but those dependant drugs. You can take Melatonin which is a natural sleep hormone but it doesn't really work very well.Sex and/or exercise will putyou to sleep without risk of addiction!
Any sleeping pills can make you dependent.
Physical exercise (sex included) is the best way to get your sleep. You should try having really hot sex before going to bed. If you have a massive orgasm with your guy the hormones it releases will help you relax and fall asleep.
Have you ever tried making yourself all tense and holding it for a minute. Then let go and relax? Sometimes that can help you fall asleep
try changing your mattress...worked for me
