I dated this guy for like two months and I think he fell really hard for me. I really liked him at first but I just got really bored with him and knew he wasn't "the one." But I think I was "the one" for him. He told me like a week or two after we broke up that he still had a lot of feelings for me and to let him know if I ever wanted to be with him again. At first, I just said okay to make him feel better and not completely devastated. But then he would text me at least once a week asking if I had changed my mind and finally I just said I can't be in a relationship because I have my career to focus on. Then he asked later that day if we could meet up for a smoothie and talk it over... I just ignored his text because I knew there was no point milking it by meeting up with him, I might have hurt him even worse...

Idk I just feel really bad for ignoring him and I know he is hurt but I didn't know what else to do :/ Was that too harsh of me?

Just tell him that it'll never happen and not because of some excuse that makes it about you. If it's him, tell him it's him. It's the only way he'll get it. Might be harsh but he'll get over it way faster than if you just keep going like this and making it seem like it's your current situation that's keeping you guys apart instead of you simply not being interested in him.
