Why does my boyfriend always tease me about my looks?

Been dating 6 months. He always teases me about my extremely pale white skin. I can't get tan, I just burn, and I've been insecure about it my whole life. He knows this, yet he continues to make fun of me. Overall, I'm happy with my looks..but it would be nice if my boyfriend reassured me that he is also happy with my looks. I'm starting to feel like he's not attracted to me because of all the jokes and rude comments. Why do you suppose he does this? I've told him it hurts me, but he continues Because he doesn't think it's a big deal.

When people harass or joke about me being too pale and not being able to tan, I just play along. I actually have come to not care anymore. I love my pale white skin, I just call myself Snow White from Disney, lol.

You are still beautiful, it doesn't matter what your skin looks like. You can make yourself look like you are glowing, wear lipstick shades that suit your skin tone. I like reds and pinks, even some peachy colors.

When someone teases or harasses you about your skin tone, or any part of yourself, just completely own it, "Yes, I do have beautiful snow white skin, and I love it!"

Seriously, everyone needs to accept the fact that not everyone is the same.

You are right, and I'm finally just accepting that I'm pale and I can't change it. I think I'm an attractive girl overall, but I feel like he doesn't think I'm attractive because of his jokes. I feel like his jokes are subtle hints telling me that I'm not his type.

Then tell him to either love it or leave it. If he can't accept you for who you are, then find someone who will! : )

some guys just don't get it. they think their being funny and flirty but a womans looks is never something to joke about. he doesn't understand the sensitivity of a woman vs a man. we can brush it off a lot easier, when girls take it to heart. maybe he will grow up someday. I don't really know what to tell you besides being straight up with him. tell him the truth, that it is a big deal and it really does hurt. if he still doesn't get it, threaten to break up with him. if he still persists, he's not worth it, and you deserve better.

Thank you, I appreciate your insight. Do you think he is unsatisfied with my looks, or trying to change how I look? Because all his jokes lead me to believe that he isn't happy with the way I look. I guess that is ultimately what I am trying to figure out.

ever think of trying a spray tan? their actually the best way to tan because there's no link to spray tan and skin cancer, unlike natural tanning or going to a tanner. I don't know if you are truly happy with your looks if his words bother you so much(which they should, its uncalled for) but what I'm trying to get at is if you would feel more secure about yourself because of a spray tan, it could be an option. its like girls wearing make up, it just makes them feel more confident, right?

It sounds like he is trying to change how you look.Now with that said a few jokes should be fine.But if it is constant then it isn't funny and he is being an ass.Dump him if he keeps it up There are men out there that won't treat you this way,And knowing that you feel insecure about it makes it even worse if he knows that he shouldn't do that.If he truly loved you he wouldn't do that
