Here is a tip to be happy and free in life : stop caring about what others expect of you. What you see as advice in this myTake I just see it as a way to make some men feel bad about themselves just because they don't have at least one of these things. I suggest those men to stop caring about these standards, to pursue their dreams, what make them happy and you will find the partner that fits you eventually.

Don't try to fit into boxes to appeal to people because you will only attract people who are attracted to these boxes and, if you had to make yourself fit into these boxes in the first place, it means that these boxes are not your real self. If you are not your real self in life, you are bound to be unhappy. Just do what you love and stop caring about what people think about you.

Also, I noticed you tend to talk a lot about what men should do to be appealing but what about women? If men have to do so many efforts to be appealing, what about women? I have seen many women who just expect the perfect man while their only redeeming quality is having a vagina (if that can be considered as a quality in the first place). It takes more than that to attract a quality man if you ask me.

There are no such thing as "real men". And there are no such thing as "real women" either.
You exist? You're real. Then it's a matter of your own identity. At the most basic level, you are a living thing. You are a human. What more divisions do we need?

You are not to be restricted by ideas of what is the "best" you can be or what makes the "best" of your "kind". You can achieve your potential and be the best you can be. And that is to be human and not inhumane.

Be whoever you want to be but always strive to be the best of yourself you can.

@David_Kek 1. If you were genuinely out of your skin as a man and really felt like a woman instead of a man, I have no problem referring you to female pronouns. You are to be considered a woman then. Whether or not you're a biological female is irrelevant.

What I mean by there is no real man or real woman is that there is no concrete concept of what exactly a "real" man/woman is. What is "real"? In the most critical and literal perspective, there is no difference between a "real" man and a "real" woman. There may be with a given man and a given woman. Anything "real" is anything that can be proven to just exist.
Men and women are humans and living things and we exist. That is the only thing that makes us real.
We are all real in that sense. If there's a "real" man and a "real" woman, what are everyone else? Why do we suffocate ourselves with ideologies that prevent us to be the best of what we can be?

Each and every human is entitled to identify with whatever they want. The accuracy of identities is largely irrelevant as long as it is not in means of hate or disregard for anyone.

I think this is a pretty good list. I think it is a man's job to protect and care for his family. When crap hits the fan you are going to be the one that your family is looking to for resolvement. Stuff like this gets called sexist which is kinda bs to be honest. Men and women are not the same and will never be the same. Most men are built bigger than most women. It's their responsibility to protect them. It's also why a lot of construction workers or more heavy labor jobs are done by men. As far as maintenance goes, most men like to do things such as work on cars and knowing how to do small repairs on cars or anything else is super handy and will save you a lot of money. I think a lot of guys lack these basic skills and come up with excuses for not having them, such as "I'm afraid I'll mess it up." Some guys are so afraid of failure that they don't even want to try and others are too lazy to attempt to learn.

Also, apart from knowing how to change a tire on the highway... why would I need to know how to be a auto mechanic when the money I make "providing" can pay for one? It would be more ideal if no one had to defend themselves but women should be able to.

Women should also get a job ( house-making is also a job ) in being able to provide for themselves and for those they care for.

I actually agree with the bulk of what you say, except the suit thing, which is just horseshit. A real man should take responsibility for his life, and not pander to fucking women's arbitrary notions of what makes him worthy. He should be courageous and true to himself, not to society, not to you.

Let's not forget that men can turn this around, and ask whether the woman is a real woman, and conforms to the same kind of standards you impose upon men. I am already employed as a protector and provider for my 2 teen kids. Suit and tie , yes , don't own a car as you cannot park anywhere and we have superb , regular public transport here , therefore an unnecessary extra expense , but I'm pretty good at fixing stuff , fixed my washing machine after watching some how-to You Tube vids , fixed my motorbike myself in the past. Good job too as I am a single dad.

I am capable of all five things. Though the issue is that the car thing is a little archaic. I have a degree in electronics, wrench on equipment professionaly and have a very well equipped set of workshops (I work in metal, wood and plastic. As well as having a very well equipped robotics lab in my garage) and my electric car has systems that I wouldn't touch. Cars are becoming increasingly complicated and take a full set of tools, techniques and skills that even seasoned mechanics are finding themselves unable to work on. So another skill every man nerds to have is the ability to say "I don't know how to do this." And hire a professional. There's competence and their is stubbornness.
