Why would he block me if he really liked me?

I met this Guy through a friend last year, he seemed very interested in me by the way he called me every day n i just ignored him then since i was alreading dating. Now after a year when m single i tried to contact him n even he responded well , he said he was single and we started talking over the phone every day about 3 hours.He said he is attracted and also would send me romantic messages. This went on for a week and suddenly he deleted me from his Facebook and blocked me as well. I didn't contact him since then, never even asked him why he did that. I was too angry but I really wonder why would anyone do that.

perhaps he lost interest
perhaps he felt shunned last year when you ignored him and so he kind of strung you along and then ditched you

lots of possibilities but either way it seems clear that he doesn't seem to know how to simply handle mature relationships with people

maybe he thinks that you are using him, i.e:when he got interested with you, you were already dating..and now that you are single you go and contact him..so..
