Guy friend asked me when the last time it was that I got laid and suggested it as a stress relief activity? Was more meant by this question?

Does that seem a tad odd in any way? I'm going through a really stressful time at work... this guy was my best friend in high school. He liked me, we dated for two weeks, then I broke up with him. In college I fell for him, we acted all couple-ish, but never kissed or anything. Weeks later he said he was just trying to get back at me for not liking him when he liked me... so for a while we didn't talk. It has been several years since that break down... but we're rebuilding our friendship now. He lives in another country.

Anywho, we were catching up after a couple months. He seriously asked me when the last time I "got laid" was and recommended I go find someone to casually have sex w/ b/c it's a good way to relieve stress. What what what is that? Who asks that? We are not that close of friends!! At least not in my head, sheesh! Sooo awkward. So not his business! So weird. My friends think he just wanted to make it clear to me that he's had sex. He's never mentioned this to me ever before soo I think it's a new thing for him... Still... whaaatt

Entirely forgot to mention, or well, just forgot until now, that he asked if the last guy I slept with was this one guy I had a HUGE crush on. I mean, I hadn't liked anyone like that for years kind of crush... the kind where you get butterflies

oh yeah... lol... I have a guy "friend" who asks and says the same exact thing to me. I know he asks this because he wants to find out how promiscuous I am or would be. I know he has feelings for me as more than friends and I have slept with him in the past but I know and he knows that I would never be serious with him for whatever reason.. So I think what he tries to do is ask me details and sort of manipulate me into thinking that I need sex.. and then when I agree that I do he will be there offering to "help me relieve that stress" lol... I def think when a guy ask this it means much more than we initially think.. but only you know the real answer.. you know him best and like you said.. this is out of the ordinary and you two have a history.. he def wants you as more than a friend and he is trying to find out where he stands AND if you've been with anyone else.

Well, we really are friends! Just... not as close as we used to be? Except not much has changed? It's like we stopped talking for almost a year b/c I was so mad at him for what he did... and now we're back to the same old... except I think I'm more mature :) haha. I think he's stayed the same. i think he seriously just meant it. sex can be relaxing for a lot of people. but that doesn't mean you should just have sex with a random guy. its a way, not THE way.

I think you are reading too much into it. Yes, it was a stupid comment, but most guys think about sex all the time and that sex will solve a lot of problems. He is probably just one of those more narrow minded guys that is thinking sex all the time and blurted out that comment.

Idk... I know him and I've known him for a decade... he's definitely one to use questions like that to poke and prod for answers in his own way. I think he was looking for something there, but I don't know what. Maybe just to show me he's having sex. I think that might have been it only?
