Why are so many footballers having kids early? And normal guys don't?

Not sure if it applies to other celebrities, I just noticed with FIFA going on now

It seems to be a trend, at least in the U. S. , men in large numbers don't ever want kids or if so, they want them late. Like way over 30.
So I'm wondering why do so many footballers decide to have kids early? Not crazy early but still in their 20s.

Like Messi (27) had his son at 25 , Ronaldo (29) had his son at 25, Arjen Robben (30) had his first kid at 24, David Beckham (39) had his first son at 24 , Phillip Lahm (30) had his son at 28...

My boyfriend said it's because they have busy lives and it's good to have someone to come home to. Well maybe but doesn't that apply to most people?

Money, and note that those guys probably also started their 'banging tons and tons of women' stage at like... 16.

By the time they're 25, they've slept with hundreds of women if they wanted to and may be ready to settle down.

The average slightly nerdy but bright guy in the u. s., barely got laid in high school, maybe got a girlfriend in college and isn't actually getting much interest from women till mid 20's.

Idk, from what I understand most of those guys become stars practically over nigh at around 20, I don't think they slept with hundreds of women before that.
And david Beckham even at 20 looked pretty awkward, it's not like most of them have exceptional looks that would make popular with women otherwise

I'm not sure why you're assuming that for them 'having kids' means 'settling down'. They still travel all the time, have full time nannies, etc. I mean hell, you included someone in your list who has a son because he got a waitress pregnant then paid her a few million to leave the kid to be raised by his family and vanish. I have heard some stories about him in particular still partying it up.

sure it's different for those guys, but still a kid is responsibility and most of them are married or still with the mother of their children. It's settling down in a way for sure.
And doesn't Christiano Ronaldo a long term girlfriend who acts kinda as the mother of his child?

I think there are a few reasons but I think since they can't go out in weekends as much as "normal" people due to all the scrutiny and the clubs usually not liking it. That will give them a reason to stay home abd find things to do there like have kids, and once you have a kid it often makes young men mature and behave a lot more.

Also being financially secure or thinking you're probably has a influence too.

Ya the financially secure thing as been said a lot. I didn't even think of that tbh. I mean of course it's important to be able to afford children, but I thought the issues was more that young men actually don't want children?
Especially if you're famous and could sleep with tons of girls, burning through your money like a coked up rockstar.

The clubs don't like it? I would have though they loved it. But ya I guess they can't drink and usually have exciting life anyways, so maybe just looking for some stability at home?

A lot of them have probably been through the sleeping with hot girls stage already like in high school and just after, so they have already had that experience plenty of times.

The clubs definitely don't like it because it's not a good look for the club to have one of their players arrested, or a photo of him doing something dodgy, sponsors often pull out of clubs for that reason. And as soon as a famous player hits the town he becomes a target , and a lot of people will want to fight him or take photos of dodgy situations, so if he has a kid that can keep him occupied and something to focus on during time off

They've already accomplished what they wanted in their careers so they're leaning towards family as well.
Footballers (as most athletes) peak at an early age (career wise), so family is the next logical step.

Idk, when you retire from active sport, you might have a very successful career as commentator anything sport related, which I'm sure is much easier to combine with your family

this is going to be a VERY unpopular opinion so prepare your downvotes: because they are relatively badly educated (maybe even kind of dumb because they dedicated their whole lifes to football to get into
this position)... also they are freaking rich and can pretty much guarantee to be able to provide for the child.

Actually another girl said that before. Now I'm not a huge football, so not quite sure and yes most didn't go to college, most don't seem to be dump either. I'm sure most could have done something else very well if football wasn't there thing. I don't think a college degree makes that much of a difference

im not saying, they are unintelligent, i just know what a big part of your life one has to sacrifice to get there... (even only being a national player) bad education is mostly a reason for early parenthood. plus these guys are mentally trained to be super tough, so they can decide such things probably easier. also: women are crazy about rich, successfull, fit guys... so they will throw their vaginas at them to get at least payed for the baby (not intending to insult women in general but some surely are like this).

a problem, compared to a "normal" guy who may not

That's one side of the coin, the other is that
it may be difficult to pursue your dreams when
you have a kid to take care of, a football star won't
have that problem :3

why won't he have a problem? I think traveling a lot and being in the public eye is very hard on children

Of that I also agree, but what I mean is that, the football dude will
already have figured out what he'll be doing, so there's no longer
an issue in that regard :)

for one, they can. They're rich and they have their pick of women. most guys have to work to get a girl they're attracted to who has a good personality/loyal, and can they even afford it. these celebrities have probably had sex with 50+ women before they settle down, haha, and they have the money.

Cause most men want to be financially stable before having kids that way if the girl splits you still have money for child support amonest everything else you might need.

Hell yea cause remember we have to pay for everything that kid need till he at least 18 and it will be more or less like 25 and if at some point the girl splits then you have to for everything twice because she needs one thing and you need one

Well I don't know if their wives work, but for most people both earn money, so it's a joint task and obviously if you fear splitting up you shouldn't have a kid really.
Of course kids cost money, but if you have a decent income it's very doable in your mid 20s

It's because moneys not a problem for them. Normal guys have to wait until they can support a kid financially.

It just depends on the guy. I know everytime I see a happy couple with a kid I'm like man I'd love to be a dad! But yeah really what would matter to me is making sure I really want a kid with a person and being in a position financially to give that kid a better life than I've had.

To be blunt, footballers are usually from lower social classes and most don't really go to university and all...
So they tend to get married and have children sooner than the average. Different realities.

I am a part-time student and part-time worker and barely afford to cloth and feed myself, never mind raise a child.

Most men want children and if they can do so when they are young then they will. It's natural for men and women to want to reproduce, we are animals after all.

I do agree, I want children young too, but it just seems to be a trend for men to want to never get married and enjoy sleeping around and stuff while only wanting children very late, if at all

In the current economic situation, only a fool would have kids without financial planning. Footballers have all the money in the world, and having a kid is good for their image outside of the field.

Athletes retire early. They can have kids earlier

well they may retire early but they don't age early, they can still have kids later in life. In fact it'd probably be better if they travel less and are less in public
