After having sex, male friend says he 'values our friendship'?

I'm troubled by this statement because I don't sleep around at all. One of my closest friends and I did it and he has had a lot of other girls before me.
He definitely enjoyed satisfying me but I feel not so ok with being friends with him; I'm not comfortable with what's happening to me.
I'm just a friend?
I'm confused and want to walk away from this friendship because he knows how much it means to me yet did it anyway. It feels awkward now but he's planned 'dates' for us or 'dinners'.

Why, I know you gave a breif explanation, but really, be honest, why do you want to walk away from it.

It's only awkward if you let it be, and are you inclined to go on these 'dates', because that's pretty textbook moving from friends to potential partners and not just sexual partners.

-I see him as someone I'm comfortable with, buddies, we know a lot about each other and this experience made me feel vulnerable to him, cause obviously we were turned on, physically visible to each other
-I'm not technically his gf but he says he would if it weren't for 'circumstances'
-trying not to be emotional and haven't shown him this but I was upset with him, he seems to know I'm freaking out a bit afterwards and he tried to calm me down

I would ask him where he sees you guys. Is he interested in a friends with benefits type relationship (which clearly you're not comfortable with), or is he open to more, like a relationship? Where is he at? He could value your friendship and still be interested in a relationship. It's just unclear at this point what his intentions are. Especially since he's planning dates and dinners, which implies being more than friends or sex buddies. Maybe he doesn't know himself. Point is, you should ask.

Its kinda hard to hear that after sex I admit but if you had fun then just take it easy. It won't be awkward unless you want to make it awkward. If it means something to him, he will make a move, if not try to forget about it and act normal.

he's set up dinners, n going out for steak n snowboarding this week. he doesn't want to lose me. I do know he knows he upset me , ye trying to act normal n not talk to him as much but he still texts, not asking to have sex but agreed we should stop.

Go to those dinners without expecting anything so won't get hurt. Try to know what he wants cause at this point its very unclear. I would hang out more with him and definitely try to know how he feels.

Wow.. that one is new. if he valued your friendship for real, he wouldn't have crossed the line.
here's a simple tip, you've got research to do, if he's "having sex" with someone else, that was a one time thing only. if he's not, you are in an friends with benefits relationship. (thats a choice by the way)
