This shy guy is frustrating and has weird behaviors. Need help with my crush?

Long story short: I work with this shy guy, never really looked twice at him for months until I heard managers joking about how quiet he always was. Slowly got interested, asked for his number, and we hung out. Communication went to shit and we stopped texting, and slowly reverted back into not really interacting with each other at work. We are both very shy, and he doesn't go to school dances because apparently he 'is too embarassed to do that in front of anyone.' I stalked him on social media, and he has a Twitter and Instagram, but doesn't use either and has like 14-20 followers on both. He has exhibited weird behaviors, like taking the trash out and then walking all the way around to the front of the store just so he doesn't have to set off an alarm that automatically goes off when you bring the trash bin back in. Once, I was standing next to one of our managers, who's a pretty big lady, and he chose to squeeze past her in between her, and the edge of the wall where there was like an inch of space, when he could have passed me without as much work. He also tends to avoid eye contact, and doesn't smile very often. A lot of our coworkers and managers joke about how we should date, and would be a perfect couple. once, one of his friends yelled through the whole store that we should hook up, and when he passed me later I could see him looking at me out of the corner of his eye. It seems like he can talk to other people fairly easily, but when I talk to him it almost seems like he has a mental disability by how he tends to pause, as though he can't process that I'm talking to him. Obviously that's not true, but you get the simile. overall he is really confusing, and I've heard he's never had a girlfriend, or even talks to girls. He is like barely 5'5, skinny, no muscles, and some acne. His behavior is extremely confusing, and I've lost all hope that he could like me in return.

A lot of our managers and coworkers constantly point out his shyness, and sort of make fun of it. When he took the trash out and came back in, one of them was like, "why can't you look me in the eye like a normal person, and tell me you're done with the trash?"

whoever that was that told him to look him in the eye like a normal person is just an asshole... just saying. look shy guys just don't have the same reactions or fondness of their peers. everywhere they go they feel like they are in a place of uneasiness. It seems like he is younger than you, or is it just that your GAG age is wrong? see shy guys need time to get comfortable. when everyone around them is putting down the shy guy or yelling about them doing something because you are the same, that just makes us want to avoid humans period. we shy guys are going to be weird, there isn't any way around it, some of us can fake confidence for a while, like ordering food at a restaurant, but when you have to go long periods around people that are being loud cocky, mouthy assholes, who they can't identify with they are not going to ease up and be relaxed any time soon. and girls to them are basically aliens.

this is coming from a shy guy who never really had a social life, or any females in his life ever. even having two younger sister never helped. I finally now have some friends, they are girls, but there is no chance that they are interested in me or anything, but maybe there friendships will help me be better with random people/women. but so far it hasn't as I don't have a full time job or pay so I am pretty much in the shitter

you have to try to get lunch time with him alone, if he doesn't talk to you, you talk to him. I mean you may be the only girl at work who he can even connect with

Yeah, the age on my thing is wrong because this wasn't my account originally. Anyway, thank you for the advice! I always want to try and strike up a conversation with him, or sit at the same table when he's on break but I feel too forward, or like I'll annoy him. He was a lot more confident/chatty over text, but in person always clammed up. I want to keep trying, and get closer, but I feel overbearing and annoying.

He sounds like he has Aspergers or some type of disability. It does not make him stupid, but he does not pick up on social cues and has no clue you like him. You will have to spell it out literally, I think.
