Why do teenage boys act so immature around each other?

OK so I know boys mature slower than girls but how come they feel the need to act immature and perverted around other guys but when their with a bunch of girls they are really nice and mature. It's almost like they have a personality switch when hanging out with guys as apposed to girls. I have my ideas such as they feel the need to prove themselves to other males or they are nice to girls because they want something from them and their being nice is all an act.

Also I have a very good guy friend who acts mature around both guys and girls and they call him a whipped tool, why do they feel the need to tear him down?

Well first of all I'm insulted you think there is a difference between the maturing cycle of males and females even though there is none.

Moving on. Boys act "immature" around other boys because we are comfortable around each other more so than girls and we make less of an effort to be careful of what we do.

When we are around girls we keep an eye on what we do to make sure we impress them or plainly keep ourselves from looking foolish.

For further knowledge, there is no difference in "immaturity" when dealing with boys or girls. Boys just happen to be more femininely repulsive with what they do and girls (Excuse my bluntness) are more emotional, verbally abusive, and crave influence.

This is very stereotypical, I am mature and am not so fond of sex jokes and don't want to know what my friends have done in a sexual sense.

But to answer your question. Guys like to talk about sex. We're more open in that area. Women want to maintain a pure outward persona and don't openly discus sexual things. Furthermore, some think it's funny or cool and want to show off.
The reason they act mature around women is because they have respect for women. They don't want to make you uncomfortable or weird you out.
Plain and simple, it's something men do to pass the time. Women talk about guys and shopping. Men talk about women and sports.

The idea that boys mature slower than girls is pretty outdated. It's from a time when girls had manners but boys were rowdy, and this is getting farther from the truth each passing day.

And boys act differently around other boys and girls because they believe quite correctly that the behaviors that will impress other boys can not be used to impress girls. Couldn't be simpler, really.

not all guys do this but the ones you are describing it is because they want some hanky panky from the girl. They act immature when around our own kind because they feel more comfortable and have room to grow. This is one personality of guys. Every dude is different just like every girl.
