Why won't he delete my number?

I talked about this before so here the short version...

Dated a 33 year old for 4 months. He said that he liked me but he was still in love with his EX. We broke up. He said he needed time to himself to get over her. I can tell from my whatsapp that he didn't block/delete me from his phone. I didn't delete him either.

1 month later...

I texted him on Wednesday just to say hello and to see how he was doing. He didn't text back. That pissed me off so I texted him again today to say "Wasn't trying to start anything by saying hello. I simply saw your name in my contacts and decided I would speak. But you've decided not to say anything to me and that's fine." He texted back few seconds later and says that he "Just didn't know if [he] should."

I told him before that I wasn't mad at him. If he thought that I was mad at him then why didn't he block/delete from his phone?

look let us be honest here... you were saying hey because you thought maybe he took his time and he is ready and when he saw it he wasn't ready and he is gentle enough not to lead you on so you should thank him for his honesty the when he didn't respond you were hurt and wanted to feel better by the second message but you just made it worse by making him feel guilty about not responding... so he said what he said again proving that he is a good man but just in a mess and refuses to put you in it.
So , I guess you need to let it go and he will come to you when he is ready

sorry I guess you can blame sherlock holmes for this (I just watched the first part of the movie) ... and he didn't delete your number cauze maybe he likes you but just needs time to sort things out then come back to you
