We like each other but we don't text?

So we hang out alone during lunch 3 days a week, we are both like the shy type but still we have our moments. He loves to play with my hair, but he is super nervous sometimes. So i gave him my number a while ago he texted me we had a short convo, and another time he was sick and i like sent a little card, we had small talks but we don't text eachother. My question is why doesn't he text me? shouldn't shy guys text more than normal dudes? He is younger (Sophmore) im a junior, prom is coming up and my head is just exploading...

Texting isn't where your relationship should center around... stay in reality and hang out in person, don't get wrapped up in the fantasy world we call technology and the internet ;), there is nothing wrong with the fact your not texting, if your comminication is good in person then what is the problem? there isn't... I know msot people these days rely on technology to keep their relationships going but it's why so many fall apart, lack of talking in person but they keep a wall between each other using technology all the time to talk to each other, that's no way to live even with friends.

haha kind of... some old-fashion views i agree on, staying in contact in person however should always be kept because you lose connection to those around you, i don't have friends because so many rely on phone or the internet these days... i just feel everyone is so diconnected from me, from each other so i know the importance of it, i refiuse to buy the latest technology unless it's laptops or those Sansung screens that's like a scroll and you press the button and it slides out, love those but it's all id buy or an ipad maybe. It's just important to stay connected always.

This is the same problem I have, i would think if he's shy then he wouldn't text you all the time first. He might think he's being annoying

He could easily like you. Texting is overrated, he might just not like it or maybe doesn't know what to say.
You should totally ask him to prom and make his year.

Think about it, texting has only been a major thing for like, what, 10 years? There are hundreds of millions of successful relationships that didn't have any texting at all.

Hey thank you, I asked him :) he said yes and forewarned me hoping his vacation didn't get in the way. I put a tiny note in a tiny bottle. And that's so true what ever you said!
