My boyfriend's best friend is an asshole to me. How can I get him to stop?

He constantly nitpicks my appearance and in front of me told my boyfriend that he could do better. My boyfriend just rolled his eyes and told him to shut up but he is still doing it. Why? How can I stop it? And yes I already told him to.

1. Don't tolerate it. Every time he does this, ATTACK! Call him out on it, call him a whiney little bitch, whatever. Make it clear that you won't stand for it.

2. If your boyfriend won't step up to defend you and tell him to keep his opinions to himself, then you REALLY need to reconsider why you're with him. Things like this are strong indicators that he doesn't "have your back", and if he can't support you against a relatively minor issue like this, what's going to happen if something REALLY important happens?

This is one of those examples of people being in denial and wearing blinders when it comes to their SO's bad behavior, and then, one day, they're somehow shocked when this bad behavior gets turned towards them - as it if was the first time this person ever acted this way.

A relationship should be a TEAM, and while team members can criticize each other in private, in public, they ALWAYS support the team, no matter what, to outsiders, maintaining a united front. Your boyfriend has utterly failed in this regard, and that's bad news.

Tell him to get a life and a girl and stop being a homo trying to steal your man. Even go as far as offer him to help him get a girlfriend of yours so he will get off your jiz. He's obviously jealous and wants you to be the blame of his unsuccessfulness. a) he wants you for himself and his plans are already afoot with ploys that have worked for him before
b) he is successful in getting into people heads & working them like puppets, so is trying to puppet you into doing things precisely to counter his jabs, while he is entertained... perhaps even titillated over these
c) the old standby truth - best friends are always jealous of the time/attention stolen from them... the new GF/BF counters by giving them so much attention when all together, it forces the sweety to avoid their own best friend to finally get the solo spotlight = you win
