Almost cheated on girlfriend, didn't say anything, now she can't trust me?

So I almost cheated on my girlfriend through sexual texting which would've led to sex. But It went on for a few months, recently I stopped cause I knew I didn't want it to lead to that and for us to break up. Problem is I never told my girlfriend, and now she found out.

I love her to death honestly. Technically we already broke up, at my house, with her two best friends invited over in the next room...but then she messaged me that night crying saying she doesn't know what to do. Her head tells her to stay away from me but her heart knows that she still loves me...

One of her friends tells her to stay away from me and the other says she'll be happy if we can stay together.

I've pretty much completely poured my heart and soul to her talking to her trying to work things out. But she still doesn't believe me and says she isn't sure if we can fix this or if she can trust me like that again. How can I convince her that I'm done with the lies and want to fix this with her and just be with her? How can I get her to believe me?

It is really hard to get someone to believe you. I mean my boyfriend never cheated on me but when I heard a rumor from some girl (that wanted my bf) told me about him cheating I flipped out. I mean the story that she gave me was completely bogus and she didn't even remember when it happened and she said it was with her. He always said he hated her too and I knew he did because she would say things about him behind his back and I told him about it. And even though I knew he didn't do anything and it was just a rumor I flipped out about it for a while. I was more worried of the thought of him cheating and I like always worried about where he was and who he was with. It was horrible. The only thing that got me over it was the long hard hours of me thinking about it to myself and realising that it was something little and stupid to think about. You could try to get her trust back by getting a new number then proving you don't talk to other people inapropriately. Let her see your texts don't talk out of the room to people and always make sure she sees that you are there for her no one else.

Ive tried to be there for her, I don't think getting a new number and letting her see my phone would help, because she doesn't trust what I say right now really, when I say how much I love her and I didn't mean tohurt her, she doesntknowwhattobeleive

Well then you should tell her that you trust her decision but you have to mean it. You should encourage her to take control of her rights.

You can try getting a new number and you can give her time. But honestly, cheating or the though of cheating for a girl, is devastating and it's something we never really get over. It makes us paranoid if something goes wrong in the relationship. You can be late because of traffic or your car not starting, but the first thing she's going to think is your cheating on her. It's something we can't get over. So you have to keep that in mind if you do get back together.

If it doesn't work out, I hope you learned something positive from this, because yes, it will be painful for you for awhile. But you got to understand the pain you caused her as well and not do it again in a new relationship. I don't mean to sound so harsh, but if you learn this now, at a young age, you'll have a wonderful relationship/marriage when you're older.

For women, if you cheat in your mind, words, feelings, or intent it is as bad as going all the way. Women don't want you just not to sleep with other women. They want you to be 100% theirs. If you sent sexual texts, to her you were bending her (the other girl) over a table in your mind. Thinking=cheating to most women.

First, good on you for putting an end to what would have made matters much more worse. Secondly, you have to ask her what it is that she needs from you to gain her trust back. Also, words of "I'm sorry" can mean a lot if they are sincere. Aside from that you can't "promise" her it will never happen again. Right now your promises don't mean anything to her. Go ahead and pour out your sole, be truthful, and make promises that you mean. If she does love you she secretly well want to hear it, the important thing is not to give up send her a romantic note or something. Keep fighting for it until she either forgives you or breaks it off.
