Girls, My girlfriend calls breaks in our relationship almost 2-3 times a month, so was just curious to know what could be the reasons behind it?

During the start of the relationship we used to go out about 2-3 times a week but every now and then we would have an argument and she would call a break sometimes she would say I wasn’t giving her enough attention so she wants a break and sometimes, she says I’m being too clingy so she wants a break. This went on for almost 6 months after which I just stopped apologising for it and didn’t take any initiative to make up with her so she would come back after 2 weeks of break, this happened twice and then for the past 3 months she hasn’t done anything like that. But I really wanna know what do girls do when they call these breaks. I have read in Reddit and quora saying it’s usually what girls say to cheat guilt free but I wanna know if there r any other possibilities, and what r the signs of the former and latter.

I immediately thought of that episode of Friends when Ross cries “We were on a break!” As justification for him cheating on Rachel by sleeping with another woman.
Whether or not your girlfriend is cheating, she clearly believes she can come and go as she pleases in this relationship. It sounds like you are incompatible based on maturity. If she truly cared about the relationship, she would stay and work through problems instead of running away every time things got hard or she felt inconvenienced.
