My crush seems aloof and uncomfortable around me... WHY?

There's this guy in one of my college course classes that I really like. He seems like a very nice handsome guy. It's so awkward because I get along fine with everyone else in the class except him. He seems so much more social with everyone else. Whenever I try to talk to him or I'm around him, it's this weird awkward tension with us. He seems very stand offish with me and I don't understand why. When I try to communicate with him, he seems very tense and serious with me. When I see that he's around others, he jokes around and seems so much more alive with them than with me. It's almost like he's scared or intimidated by me for some reason. Even sparking a conversation is so hard because I feel like I'm so boring to him. When I talk, he gives me quick answers and seem uninterested in anything I have to say and he starts looking down at the ground or everywhere but my face and he says he has something to do and walks off... why?

He could quite possibly like you as well. You say he gets along fine with other people all except you and when you talk he gives quick answers and doesn't look at you. This might be because he likes you and he's afraid to be himself around you because he might be afraid you won't like him, so he's watching what he says, making sure he says the right thing etcetera and also not looking at you might be because he's intimidated by you, he doesn't want to blush or something I don't know. But just try talking to him more, this might make him feel more comfortable around you and then he might open up...

This is just from my experiences though, I acted the way this guy did around my crush. But saying that @serious point could be true as well so it's 50/50 either way. Just go for it though, there's nothing wrong with trying and if it runs its course it runs its course, there's other fish in the sea :)

I think he has no interest in you, he just seems to dislike the very sight of you. Surely he would have his reasons for this but doesn't want to tell you directly because he thinks that will to too hurtful to you.
