I kissed a guy in front of my crush, will my crush give me a chance?

Hi mostly wanted a guys perspective, but hey I am happy with any sort of advice.

So I was just wondering if you think this guy might still like me or if I royally screwed things up. Context:
I like this guy, and we hung out a lot at a large party, but then he went back to his friends and someone else started dancing with me (and my friends). It ended up in us dancing and him kissing me, I kissed back for a sec untill I realised this is not the guy I want. I saw my crush saw it, I tried to find him immediately afterwards, but I couldn't...
During the evening before this happend some of his guy friends did seem to hint my crush to make a move but he never really did, besides dancing and talking with me.
So basically I am not really sure if he likes me at all.
Would it be an idea to approach him, or to wait for his approach (and if that does not come it already tells me his answer)?

I mean everything could be cleared up very quickly. All you have to do is go up to the guy and be honest. "Hi, so listen. Um. So at that party, I wanted to get to know you more, but somehow I ended up kissing another guy, and I think you saw, and I just wanted you to know that I'm really sad it was him I kissed and not you because... yeah. So. I don't know if you have feelings for me or not but yeah."

Yeah because he could be thinking it's over and then you could seriously make his day by telling him this. And if you don't try, you'll never know. And even if he doesn't have feelings, he will respect you doing this and on some level be flattered. :) So you have nothing to lose.

You screwed up. If you want him now you have to make an aggressive first move because he's obviously not going to do it, even if he wanted to before. I mean why would he, he just sa you kiss another guy in front of him so he's going to assume you don't like him.

I think you kinda screwed up, but if he asks about it just say it was a party and it didn't mean anything abs you're still waiting for the right guy to ask you out

Guys don't generally like slutty. Maybe he might be into it but probably not. If he was hesitant to approach you, you can be sure he's not going to approach you anymore. You can try to approach but don't expect good results.
