Coworker Love Triangle... Thing?

there's this guy at work that I might like, a lot. he's super funny and nice but that's besides the point. we started out always making jokes, sharing food, helping eachother out (like any good coworker friendship would be). he would motivate me a lot and say cute things from time to time. it didn't even cross my mind that i sort of liked him until a few weeks ago. right when i was questioning my feelings towards him, he tells me he wants to "hook up" with another girl that works with us (or maybe two). these girls are sort of my friends too and I don't think they ever even notice him at work. he refers to one of them as his 'best friend'... THEY NEVER EVEN TALK. he told me one of them invited him over! I'm not sure if he's lying or whatever, but it seems like he wants to just be friends with me? should i just keep my distance? he IS a coworker, so should I just forget about these feelings completely?

That definitely sucks to know you tried so much more to be there for him and he doesn't acknowledge you but could it possibly be he knows you like him maybe your friends told him and he just wants to see your reaction? Now it's time for the test continue to show him you can be there for him I would blurt out you like him a lot because than it can just make it awkward. If he seems to talk all the time about these girls and it sounds more like he likes them as a girlfriend than just a friend than I would step back give him his space. Space can actually be a good thing you can try to not always be around so much as well and it might make him realize what it's like for you to not be around fully he than might see he sees you more in a relationship role

don't shit where you eat, the worst thing is to have a relationship with a co-worker... it's even worse that just having sex with him and walk away at work... if you guys start dating and things worked out it will then create problems at work place.
