Why do guys like girls with soft features?

My best friend is really pretty and she has really soft features like big round eyes, small lips and overall she looks really young (she's actually 26 but everyone thinks she's 19 plus she's small - in height ) and very feminine and I ve noticed that guys especially the ones with strong/sharp features and mature appearances tend to like her a lot.

So why is that? Do you also prefer girls with soft features? Esp guys who have a much more rugged and masculine appearance?

The traits include having big eyes, small nose and lips, and a rounded face. That's why mickey mouse's eyes are half the the size of his head. The trait is called neoteny, and it also promoted blonds, because that's a neotenous feature as well.

Interestingly, the poorer the environment (the more challenging or resource sparse) is, the more men prefer masculine looking women.

In general guys like girls with soft features because it looks like she's fragile so they can protect her. It's the same for girls that prefer guys with a much more rugged and masculine appearance, we date them because it looks like they are more mature so they can protect us. I do think it's one of the main reasons of it.
