The shy guys stop talking to me but the rejected ones keep coming back?

Some may know about this shy guy that I like. He randomly became shy out of nowhere. We used to talk all the time and I’m pretty sure he likes me. Now he stopped talking to me but when I see him he looks at me like he wants to tell me something but he’s too scared to. He’s even awkward to talk to online. Then there’s this guy I met like 5 years ago at a party. I was too intoxicated to remember him and I only have very vague memories. He asked me out over Facebook after adding me recently. I rejected him because he lives too far away (I moved since I met him 5 years ago) and turned out he’s a major drug addict. Not my type! But even after I rejected him, this guy still messages me like I’m going to change my mind! I wish the shy guy was more like that. So why would the rejected come back while the shy guy suddenly stopped talking to me? I thought rejected guys usually stop talking to the girl and usually shy guys are more confident when talking online. Clearly that isn’t it in my case.

I personally think that the shy guy likes u but is afraid to talk to u coz of the shyness when he sees u,, or when u try to talk to him.. Have a conversation with him, he might be very shy and can even freak out when u ask him,, but i think u won't have any idea how happy he might be inside.. There are people like him who find it difficult to make progress towards their love interests. But I think u can make him feel comfortable when u talk to him.. They feel very special when someone they like shares something personal with them.
I know it sounds like i am saying u to take the initiative first,, but its ur life, You have to live happily with the peraon u like

I have tried talking to him online because I don’t get to see him as much anymore and he was very awkward and sometimes didn’t reply. But he did talk to me in person one day when no one was around so I guess that was good

Well if the shy guy likes you and stopped talking to you it could be that he thought you weren't interested in him or he wasn't good enough for you.
