Crush on my mechanic, Was he just being nice or does he like me. (A bit long) please read?

My cars exhaust came off at the back of the car and cracked the manifold. Replacing would cost £400 for long term, that's what the mechanic told me and my boss. when my boss was talking the mechanic had the most seductive eyes and I was staring at him he looked away from my boss and stared back at me and we had eye contact for a good 5 seconds.

Anyways to the point I just don't have this kind of money, I work around the corner from this guys garage and he's about the same age as me late twenties My boss asked him to please look out for me see what you can do because she really doesn't have a lot of money. He said to him "if that was your sister what would you Do? The mechanic didn't really say anything. Also my boss had to keep reassuring me infront of him that he wasn't going to fob me off as I had my doubts (just mechanics in general I don't know how this stuff works.)

I needed my car for work but had to cancel the rest of the day I left my car with him and 3 hours later he called me and said he can weld the manifold for £70 for short term fix and changed my whole exhaust for free. I thanked him on the phone like there was no tomorrow he said it will be ready in an hour.

Met with him at the garage he showed me what he did and he asked if I could see the part that he fixed which i replied not really and that I don't know much about cars! He then pulled out the silencer that was in my car out of a bin as he replaced my car with a new one and said "we replaced this". I said to him "you replaced that as well?" I was shocked as this was all for £70. I said to him as I was flustering, "do you take cash"? He said "I'll take card, cash, cheque, whatever you got" and I said oh sorry not cash I meant card then he pointed to a small room where they take payments etc and then he said I'll do it for £60 I'll knock £10 off.

When I was inserting my card in the machine he said I should have made my boss pay for it.

Was he just being kind or does he like me?

I walked past him today he was in conversation with a customer but our eyes met straight away we stared for about 3 seconds I waved and said hi he waved back and said "you Alright" lol

I would say he liked what he saw. But in a service industry like that, you can't really expect every pretty woman to be interested in you. And some people in those positions just like to flirt when they can because honestly, he's probably not gonna see you again. But if he was willing to flirt, he at least likes you enough that you should make a move if you were also interested.

I couldn't tell you. Light flirting is more about the delivery than what's being said. He could have just been trying to be pleasant. But if he seemed he was going out of his way to hold your attention or make you laugh, he was most likely interested.

RE; your update. I think you read too much into that bit. That's what you do when you recognise /know/have met someone, you look at them and say hi, even when you're talking to someone else.

He may still like you, but you'll have to look out for more obvious clues. Next time you walk past his work, see if he watches you, not just looks up to say hi, or glances up for a moment and goes back to what he's doing, but actually watches you walk past. Just generally see if you catch him looking at you when no one's already talking to him about you, or you're not already looking at him... or just go over and get talking sometime, you'll be able to tell by how is with you. Banter is one thing, but you be able to tell.

Everything you're saying reminds me of my neighbour who's a mechanic. He says " you alright" to me every morning and I hardly know him. It's just the way you've described him. If he's a dark haired, really cute but quite shy guy called steve, then you'll freak me out!

I've caught him staring many times. I was walking with my male collegue and he was staring at me and when we got back to the office my collegue asked if I know him or if I've taken my car in before he could just be bored and likes to people watch who knows. I never really noticed him until he helped me with my car.

If it's been a year, you might have to step it up a little, flirt with him a little. Smile when you walk past, tease him a little.
You'd be gutted if, in a few more months/weeks, he was actually dating someone else, right?

Well, he's a Mechanic - A typical bloke's bloke who probably has a calendar of naked girls on the wall somewhere at work, and certain newspapers open a certain pages.
Typically ( sorry for the stereotype) these guys are first in line to a respond to a girl he finds attractive, so unless he's committed to someone, I'd say you were in with a shot... but I''d still say be quick. Women flirt with these guys all day long.

Whether he's up for actual dating, no one knows but him, but from the sounds of things, I doubt he turn down having sex with you.
